To be fair, CookinFlat - the same people complained when we had indestructible Bridgestones that you could drive at 100% for the full race and only use 1 set of tyres (Vettel at Monza that year was an example - did 52/53 laps on the "Softer" tyres, only pitting because he had to).
For me, Spain was one of the more interesting races. Only because you had Kimi preserving tyres to do 3 stops vs Alonso pushing 100% for a 4 stop. Ferrari knew it would be 50/50 between a 3 and a 4, so said lets just push as hard as possible and make it work.
Personally if I was in charge, i'd bring back the indestructible tyres and use the money saved from needing less tyres to bring refuelling back. That with DRS overtaking would make strategies far more exciting in my opinion (plus it would make tyre stops safer
