I think it would be much better if everyone just used Kelvins.

Mr Celsius had a good idea though, water freezes at 0 and boils at 100. Least you know where you stand with that.

Metric is just plain logical it doesn't make sense not to use it.

Can I just point out that we use metric in everything but road distances?

We use celsius, kilos, metres, 100 pence makes a pound... miles are the sole aberration. It's the americans who use the freaky measurement systems - Fahrenheit, for goodness sake!!

Well, there are some holdouts on your islands such as stone. But I agree, America is the worst offender and Fahrenheit drives me nuts with its randomness. And I really like that you keep miles - that's the only one worth keeping as it makes it so much easier: 60mph on average, thus, if you have to travel 37 miles, you'll be there in around 37 minutes. Try that with km!

Weight is generally done in stones, milk comes in pints, dunno about weighing vegetables, height of people is generally done in feet and inches, well it is by football commentators and pundits although they aren't the sharpest tools in the box.

Anyway, I'm all for measuring "manhood" in centimeters as it sounds much bigger that way.

An Inch wont even get your (shoes) wet :P

I've just discovered a plus side to the metric system, there's no double entendres when you're dealing with centimetres.
