AKR - Ferrari mentality at its best : over emotional, irrational and content lacking of substance

I said it before, I'll repeat: That's a BLIND FANATIC'S mentality. Doesn't matter what team that person likes.

I see here lots of McLaren and Hamilton haters for no real reason. I also see lots of Ferrari and Alonso haters, for no real reason too. Unfortunately, it happens with all sports--some of those who follow the top teams are blinded and are unable to reason and discuss stuff, especially if it goes against their team.

So leaving that subject there...

About Ferrari: Alonso had all the reason to protest what happened and to escalate that issue (and bear with me--I'm a McLaren fan 100%). But the way Di Montezemolo moved things, well, he sounds more like an irate politician than a team leader. I think Di Montezemolo needs some sort of PR consultant. He (and not the team) is making Ferrari sound like a bunch of whiny dudes. You gotta know how to expose things, how to clear up stuff. The way he's been doing it sounds pretty immature, for some reason. Maybe it's unintended...I used to think he was a damn cool guy, but now...I don't know.

Yeh but this isnt' about Ferrari's fans or Mclarens fans it about The Scuderia itself and the way it conducts itself as a team.

Mclaren itself admits when it has broken the rules

I don't recall Ferrari cheating to be in position to have admit anything.

By the way, McLaren is so very boring. I cannot understand what anyone sees in them. They are just like an everyday Vauxhall. BORING.

Oz 2007 - Fleix Floor
"media day testing" June 2010

I'd rather have a MP4-12c than a Vauxhall or a Ferrari anyday of the week

I would rather a RUF CTR, A nice yellow one too. Engineering wise that is kick arse and as quick as a Ferrari.

As for Alonso, whatever the rights and wrongs of Sunday afternoon, it appears clear that he has a personal problem with Hamilton that is causing him to lose sight of the bigger picture. It is somewhat reminiscent of the situation between Piquet and Mansell, and if Alonso is not careful his obsession will take over, dominating his every thought. While one can understand the Spaniard's nose having been put out of joint in 2007 we are now three years down the line and it is time to move on. However, it appears that Fernando cannot move on, which causes one to wonder whether his contempt for his McLaren rival is merely about issues on the race track.

All in all, this whipping up the fans and the media is not good, and both Ferrari and Alonso have benefited from safety cars and FIA rulings in the past, swings and roundabouts. While we all like a bit of controversy, this current episode is unworthy of all concerned.

However, we're probably wrong - we usually are - so let us know what you think about the various points raised in this Talking Point, be it the Webber crash and safety in general, the deployment of the safety car and Hamilton's penalty or Ferrari and Alonso's reaction.

Alonso's got a point though, it seems Hamilton was better of overtaking the safety car and getting a drive through penalty than following around behind it. Although its not to do with Hamilton that Ferrari got caught out behind the safety car as it emerged, that was horrible luck and I hope it evens out.

There was 1m in it Vaptin, it's not like Lewis overtook it on track! Alonsos only point is the carrot up his arse!

I'm not saying Hamilton did a lot wrong, but he did benefit. . .

Well that's fairly obvious, ofcourse it's advantageous to stay infront of a sc in that situation, if it came out 10seconds earlier it would have stuffed Vettel up an Button would have won!

Had he been 1m further on it wouod have been legal and he would have had a bigger benefit. He didn't benefit from breaking the rules.

did he gain more time being in front of the safety car then he would've lost in the drive through penalty?

Exactly. But button didnt violate anything. That would have simply been luck.
But as it happened, the luck went to the ones who did the violations, small as it were... which is Fernando's whole issue. See the difference?

probably but if he'd got his timing right he wouldn't have picked up any penalty, he got it wrong and was penalised for it and lost the chance to fight for the win.

That's true, he carried his bloody anger for that all the way through the race and got caught with his pants down and the last lap, that angered me so much!!! he needs to concentrate on securing his 3rd title.
