The pit crew and chiefs are relevant to the racing. One driver's girlfriend being on TV every single race is ridiculous as is the drivers fathers over and over again. What makes one driver's father more relevant than another?

I think the directors show the fathers that attend who's sons are in the thick of things. For example if Massa is being broadcasted in a battle for 1st or even 12th the director might show his dad to get a feel of the emotions of the scene playing out, usually the fathers or people around a driver show more emotion than the guys in the team.

You're right. Its modern media, we're stuck with it. But some people are narrow minded and like to use it take a pop at at lewis. As others have said its the same whoever is in the heat of battle. people around them will be shown. That Lewis's father was his manager meant he was there more often. he's rarely there now, i see other fathers more.

Probably one of the following in the eyes of the media
*they're in the pits
*the son is doing fanatastic things with the car
*the son is in a title challenge
*the son is being managed by the father (whether you like or dislike the management style is largely irrelevant)

I like it when they show the pitcrews faces and expressions JUST before the lights go out...helps increase the tension that way.

I also like to see the team bosses expressions after their cars crash!

And please...let's not deny how great the end of Brazil the year Lewis was WDC...the expressions on Massas dad and family and the Ferrari mechanic was....I don't mean to be sadistic but that was a classic moment.

I would NOT like to see Lewis' gf/wife/fiance and John Button anymore. It's come to the point if I see these two on the street somewhere, I'll turn around and walk the other way.

Valencia is only straights and second gear corners. Not exactly the most exciting circuit, considering most other street circuits (Adelaide, Monaco, Long Beach, Singapore) contain intresting corners.

Valencia doesn't work because Tilke has tried the solution of long straights (that aren't straight) into tight corners, which doesn't work on street circuits. The cars get spread out even though there aren't any high speed corners, where a real street circuit keeps the cars together very well.

The circuit would run better in the opposite direction. None of the corners can be remodelled in the current form.

Do they show different clips in different broadcasts? Usually they show Nicole about 2-3 times a race for some seconds and I have nothing against it, in fact she's beautiful and while there's nothing going on on the track, why shouldn't they show her a bit? Now this becomes an issue when they choose to show unimportant clips over important ones like Schumacher fighting with Liuzzi/Sutil. That was annoying and bad, still I don't get the drama about this.


Alonso says Ferrari is going to be very very quick in Valencia, I believe him and this means we will have 3 pretty equal teams. I'm cautious about McLaren's pace, but if Lewis manages to win this race also, then I have no words. It would be absolutely incredible, as his car really shouldn't be winning 2 races, let alone 3 races in a row. McLaren's tactics and our drivers' skills have really payed off this season. I still predict he will be better than Jenson though, no disrespect, I like Jenson and he's a cool guy.
