OH God. RC is out of hiding!!

it's a bit harsh that, racechick supports Lewis a lot but she doesn't blindly ignore his flaws, she just likes him alot regardless.

Edit, anyway I heard you where on holiday racechick?

Yes. Been in Wales. Off to France early tomorrow then back to Wales Thursday. Should be back for next weeks race. And yes Im under no illusions about lewis...but he's still the best :D

Not hiding antoniob-why would I hide ?

On here I have seen stupid remarks, yawning emoticons following a quoted post and taking the p*** out of peoples posts, people called muppets and someone wants to take Lewis's radio away and antoniob? Well no sense there.

Yet, many of these posters are the self same ones that are calling Lewis whinney and childish etc? :hehe::hehe::hehe: yeah right!

So them being "whinney and childish" (please forgive me for assuming your not calling me "whinney and childish" means therefore that Lewis cannot have been whinney and childish?

So Lewis complained so what? The team made a bad call and he said so, what is the big deal? Why should he conform to what others expect him to do? The adrenalin pumping, people do say things, shows he cares, shows he wants to win, what is the problem? Why is ASKING why he was pitted seen as whining? he asked a question, he is the one out there putting his life at risk, I think he is entitled to ask.
Seems to me people on here just want to call him just for the sake of it, if he did start conforming to *your* ideas of what he should and should not do, who would you have to pick on then?

Go admit it, you would all be gutted to lose your scapegoat.

No he did NOT complain about the tyres before he pitted.

you come accross as very familiar. tell me some .. you have a point to all this then ??

Mclaren screwed Hamilton over.

The Common sense decision was to stay out on track. Simple.

I would have slapped that Whitmarsh across his face with a two by four for making a decision like that.

I wouldn't have, everyone makes mistakes. Whitmarsh has admitted it was a bad call. Whitmarsh probably makes a hell of a lot less mistakes than most people.

You think the team complain to the drivers just after they make a mistake and crash? What Lewis did was wrong, he should discuss it in private with his engineers after the race, whining during the race helps no one. All it would do is distract his focus on trying to get past Alonso. When Alonso spoke to his engineer he was clearly stressed, but still conveyed a useful message "I don't want to know" - in other words I'm aware Lewis is storming up to me and don't want you telling me that, I'll deal with it myself.

Lewis's tone was petulant and whiny.

What the hell? Formula 1 is a high adrenaline sport don't get it twisted.

Eh? Alright my grammar and stuff probably is incredibly shoddy, I'll reword then.

Lewis shouldn't have been whining over the radio, he should've got on with the race and talked about the decision after in private.

I understood what you said. But there, you said it again. I am saying Lewis has every right to let the team know he was not pleased. Button does it, Alonso does it, Schumacher does it, Vettel does it (even throws his steering wheel in public sometimes) and many other drivers do it too. What Lewis did is nothing to make a deal out of. What Whitmash did is the real issue.

From what I remember of the radio conversation he was told he would catch the ferrari's before the end of the race to which he replied "What theyre not pitting? Why did I pit then". Hardly suprising he was a little bemused by the decision since it was wrong and cost McLaren a one/two. But poo happens. A shame though after he drove such a fantastic race.

Hello Anna. Good to have you back. I missed you. No as i understand it he complained about the tires before he pitted. so why ask crazy Q afterwards?

Nice to be missed and nice to be back-though its only briefly:D He didnt complain about the tyres, they were fine.

Another one will come :)
scapegoat to what BTW?

In any case... i havent really bashed him for saying the silly things he did. But what i have said is that the correct strategy was NOT straight forward. Seriously, who on earth thought Massa was going to stay out??
It failed because the others took a massive gamble that almost didnt pay off. So, blaming the team for this... its not very sportly. And not very intelligent.

Ok thats what i was thinking. Lewis should then have stayed out if he thought his tires was ok. why pit if there no problem then ?

I'm not criticising just becuase it is Lewis. I am criticising becuase I feel he did something wrong. It's just when it is Lewis you get a whole load of people defended him, making these arguments run for longer.

Anyway, onto why I think it is wrong. First of all his tone - was it more of a moan then it was a question? Judging from the way he said it, I think not, and moreover, I think that the engineer and team on the other end would have interpreted it that way.

Secondly, the context. It was said mid race about something that had already happened, what good does it do? I've already compared to Alonso's comments which were also "testy" to show the difference between the two.

I think it showed that Lewis was distracted and not concentrating fully on passing Alonso.

I don't complain about Lewis just for the sake of it, I however feel this is genuinely complaint worthy. It's just when its about Lewis you get a load of people defended him, so arguments go on for longer.

Finally, no he doesn't have to do what I say, however if he does something I perceive to be wrong I will criticise. I think it was wrong as in the context it was made (mid-race) it was unhelpful and uncontstructive,

LEWIS IS A WHINY PETULANT CHILD!!

HE SHOULD JUST SHUT UP AND DRIVE!! DAMN BRAT!

OK with that out of the way:

Hamilton's tyres were good.
Kubica said he was expecting Hamilton to pass him any time soon.
Whitmarsh told him to come in. Hamilton followed orders.
Hamilton goes from a potential 2nd to 6th.

Whose fault it was?

Has anyone said the team weren't at fault?

Anyway, shutting up and driving - come back kimi all is forgiven.

I guess because he knew how much of the race was left and thought the team had better information on how the tyres would hold up for those laps than he did.
