Stefan GP must know something though i mean the shear cost of shipping the equipment and getting staff there to not race would put any team off

This may explain some of it. http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/8107.html
maybe bernie is doing more than just backing them

Oh no... Bernie recommending Ralf for the Stefan GP drive... Stefan GP will be the new Andrea Moda of F1 if they enter.. except Andrea Moda had a better driver combination than Ralf and Crashajima.

maybe because they have the golden ticket of an F1 entry

So that's how the FIA chose the entrants for this year's Championship, they gave potential teams a load of chocolate bars and waited for the Golden Tickets to be found... that must be why ProDrive never got a look in as well.. they couldn't find it.

:P

it is strange in this version of the story, the umpalumpa's are taller than willy wonka

Bernie wants them in. The fact that he's badmouthing Campos and USF1, has shown support for Stefan GP and Ralf Schumacher and the fact that Stefan's equipment is already on its way to Bahrain gives it away in my opinion. There's a reason that Stefan are the first grand prix team in history to send gear to a race without having a grid slot...surely it's that they actually do have a grid slot all but officially?
