Hey, hang on a sec, a dark horse here is definitely Ralf.... might have to see what odds i can get on that actually! :scratchchin:

You know, if Ralf returned to the sport and Nick also found a seat, there would be eight German drivers on the grid. o.o

Deutschland über alles

Do you know something from just about every language? :hehe:

It is/was my first language...

Oh I see. The only German I know is "thank you" and "bless you". :P

Bless you? How would you translate that into German? There are a few ways I could think of...

Gesundheit, yes, when somebody sneezes (literally: health). There are other contexts though where you could bless somebody, in a more religious context, e.g.

Well this is looking interesting.

Giancarlo Fisichella looks to be the driver that will join Kamui Kobayashi at the Sauber team in 2010.

Pedro de la Rosa was touted as the favorite, but reigning champion Jenson Button said this past week that he won’t give McLaren's new MP4-25 its track debut because de la Rosa, 38, is scheduled to drive it at Valencia on February 1.

That news seems to confirm that the Spaniard is staying put as the Woking based team's main test and reserve driver this year.

The Swiss newspaper Blick reports that Giancarlo Fisichella flew briefly from Ferrari's winter media event in the Italian Dolomites to Sauber's Hinwil headquarters last Thursday.

The newspaper suggested that Sauber is under pressure from its new power train supplier Ferrari to give 2010
reserve driver Fisichella, 37, the vacant race seat.

The veteran has contested more than 231 Grands Prix since 1996, including a season with Sauber in 2004.

Shortly after he left the Force India team in the middle of 2009 to substitute for the injured Felipe Massa at Ferrari, Fisichella was quite aware he would switch to the role of reserve driver in 2010, but it was reported that under the terms of his contract Ferrari would allow him to race for another team<>.

I'd like to see Fisichella back in for 2010, he still has the talent and had the measure of Sutil in 2009 and 2008, too. Of course, it's a shame if de la Rosa ends up spending another year as a test driver and still makes me worry about Heidfeld's future, but Fisi is a good and experienced driver so would be a good partner for our new star Kobayashi.

He had the measure of Kimi as well.
When he was in the Force India

i think it is nick heidfield and kamui kobayashi

Yep that would be my pick. Kobayashi reminds me of Sato, always fun to have in a race.

I don't rate Fissichella, not consistent enough for my liking.

I suspected Fisi would be the main contender if Heidfeld wasn't staying there. I have absolutely no doubt Nick will find a drive though, probably at Renault. Surely all the team bosses in F1 will have the sense to see that he is the best available driver (even if his marketing potential isn't quite as good as some others)??

 I agree.

Ferrari reserve driver Giancarlo Fisichella is set to fill the second Sauber seat alongside Kamui Kobayashi after he was spotted at the Swiss team's Hinwil base last week. The deal would suit Ferrari, who are supplying engines to Sauber, because it would mean the 35-year-old Italian would stay racing fit.

I think I'm more inclined to agree, Sauber would never be able to afford heidfield.
I'd like to put him at Renault.
But i wouldn't be suprised if he found himself without a drive.
would be a shame

Sounds like Fisi in, Heidfeld out. Which is a shame really, because there are plenty of free seats - they just happen to be in the cars run by cowboys like US F1.
