That's because the main area the MP-4 and Ferrari were behind was with the aerodynamics... these tracks are not that dependent on aerodynamic greatness.
Taking away the diffuser issue, the absolute best car was the Red Bull. They did an amazing job, and without the diffuser issue and the blown engines Vettel would have won the championship... i think that's what people saw when voting him as the best driver. To me, the diffuser should have never been allowed and the FIA should have reacted faster, but seems like even they couldnt keep up with all the changes......
Jenson was consistently good when he had to be fast, and consistent enough when he had to be careful. Not bad.
Lewis had some up and downs, and looked even better because Heikki struggled. Maybe Lewis made mistakes because he was pushing the limits, but basically everyone pushes the limits!
