Yeah, nudity hmmm

If everyone was always nude where would the fun be ?

The joys of wearing sexy underwear ;) So you can tease somebody who wants to see whats underneath ;) .. If they always saw what was underneath then where would the fun be ?

But no-one's suggesting that everyone would always be nude. Just that there would be no compulsion to be clothed.

I always just imagined that humans started to invent clothes when we started getting certain parts of our bodies caught on thorns and brambles hurt more than other parts.

I have also been a Westerner in a Muslim country (Kuwait) where you can buy a censored copy of the Sun Newspaper where all the pictures of women's body's are felt penned out. Does it affect the sexual desire when you see a woman in a Burca? Nope, in fact you would be surprised how much effort they put into eye make-up.

Oh and in Kuwait it is up to the Husband how much skin a woman can show. Some women are dressed like westerners others go one step beyond the Burca and add a black net so you can not see their eyes.

but thats exactly how i feel, with no clothes everywhere.. wheres the surprise?!

Who ever said anything about "no clothes everywhere"? People seem to be assuming that either we have laws enforcing covering of part of the body, or everyone will have to be naked all the time. Fallacy of the excluded middle.

Well If I had the choice to be nude - I'd never do it.

For one thing I am always cold to the point that I go blue/purple - So Pheumonia no thanks.

And second thing, it just wouldn't be pretty

But even if you didn't want to use that freedom, wouldn't you prefer that it was your choice? Rather than something forced upon you?

why are you on this nudity topic anyway?

Just random searching on the internet, and I found the story of Studland United Nudists. http://www.studland-nudists.co.uk/ Just piqued my interest, as I personally consider that laws restricting what body parts are allowed to be shown, and which not, are stupid and baseless. So, I thought I'd start a thread. Since the thread is now five pages long, it's clear that I'm not the only one interested in discussing the topic.

After all, why does anyone start a thread in an off-topic forum?

just curious to thinking you want to become a nudist or something. I mean youre going against thousands of years of western culture here.

No, I don't myself feel any need or inclination to go nudist. What I don't like are stupid laws and customs that curtail freedom for no good reason.

Just because we've had thousands of years of western culture, doesn't make it right. Many improvements to society went against long tradition. Democracy, women's rights, gay rights, socialised medicine, abolition of slavery, the list goes on and on. Nothing wrong with going against thousands of years of western culture, progress depends on it.

I like the laws, some people just should not ever be seen naked. Poeple would be throwing up in public all over the place, it would be a mess!

In reality there would be little difference. Most of the body can be uncovered now. And without stupid societal conventions making certain parts of the body "forbidden", nobody would be more concerned about these claimed "private parts" than they would be about ugly knees.

If you're finding the normal variation of human body types "disgusting", then I'd say that there's something wrong with your thinking, not with their bodies. And that a more healthy approach to clothing and nudity in our society would result in fewer people developing attitudes such as yours. And that would be an improvement in society in general.
