Terrible.
Crappy nanny state! I hate hippies!

Hippies also dislike, notice my non-confrontational reference, ignorant misinformed blow hards. :wavey:

It seems like only morons live next to race tracks.

dont you live next to laguna seca?

Nah, its like a 10-15 minute drive from where I live, but its the same crap over here. A lot of morons who live right next to the track complain about noise even though their houses were built well after the race track.

Just out of curiosity, is the housing community around Spa rather posh?

There is no housing community around Spa going by what i seen, Its only the odd house here and there almost the whole area looked to be wooded

Hmmm, this whole debacle doesn't make much sense.

Indeed - and those complaining (if they're even locals) will see the whole area decline. House prices will fall, businesses will fail, and they can all go back to farming - I wonder if Forumula1.com should start a campaign promoting common sense with regard to historic racetracks and noise pollution? Unless people actually live on the actual circuit, I very much doubt the noise levels (even for F1 cars) reach anything like typical road noise.

We stayed in stavelot and you can hear the Porsche Carrera cup cars so I would imagine the F1s would be fairly audible! say it be he same with Spa and Franchorchamps! The problem is the valleys they echo the sound!

But Stephen that idea sounds awesome someone needs to make a stand over this type of issue!

This might come as a surprise to some F1 fans, but Spa is actually more famous for its spas than F1. All spas around the world are named from this tiny town.
They get more tourists around the year for health spa hotels and threatments, than race people. Popular destination for this purpose long before the F1 race course was built there. And I guess some of the locals would prefer to bring in the spa tourists instead of F1 or other racing people.

All F1 fans should obviously put their money where their mouth is, and start buying houses next to spa francochamps.

I live 2 miles from Pembrey Race track and you can defiantly hear cars etc on the track. Some of the more informed locals can tell what is running just from the sound alone.

As for the Spa's of Spa, you do not hear the people of Monaco complaining and I think they are a bit more of an inconvenience than the Spa people, Plus I wonder how many tourists that Monaco gets a year.

A quick google map search shows that there are a few villages close by to the north and south. However the question is still, why buy a house that close to a racetrack if you're just going to complain about the noise?
