Hamilton is nothing extra special. There are several drivers on the grid who could have done a better job than him last season and who are much easier to work with.

Well said, risking the wroth of the forum there.

I rate Hamilton, just not as highly as one or two others.

Hamilton is extremely talented, but that is not enough at professional level. You've got to have the full array of required skills, and Hamilton does not (at the moment anyway).

Ah! So you've worked with Hamilton!! That would explain it then. I mean how you have all this extra information on Hamilton than the rest of us. I owe you an apology, I thought comments such as....

"It was disappointing to see Hamilton stuff things up again for McLaren. The new bits on the car were working well, the conditions during qualifying helped out the team, and Hamilton made a great start - but saw red and he out-braked himself. So long as Hamilton keeps doing this, he is going to be a liability to any team who employ him. The team are a pathetic sixth in the constructors' title; without Hamilton's gaffes, the team would either be a slightly more respectable fourth, or not far off it. Another wasted opportunity. It was nice to see Kovalainen put a decent shift in, though. His lap times were very good, considering he was not running a couple of the new parts.".......

were just down to your intense dislike of him.

McLaren may be a patheitc sixth at the moment but don't look to Hamilton's gaffes for that look to a poorly designed car. Without Hamilton they wouldnt even be sixth.

I think he made a good start - well what am I saying of course he did. Sadly he had no where to go and got tagged by the Red Bull. Shame, but I suppose he had nothing to lose.

If he had been in contention for the title I doubt he would have done something like that, especially after Fuji 2007... or would he?

It was stupid. He overshot the corner, but you cant blame him for trying hard.

He didnt overshoot the corner though. He only went off when his tyre and webbers front wing tagged. If that hadnt happenned he'd have been first out of that corner.
