This is a stupid rumour. I Lewis did leave Mclaren it would be the biggest mistake of his life. Neither Anthony nor Lewis would make such a stupid decision, and therefore this is just a stupid rumour

Thats an awesoem argument based entirely on "stupid".... faultless

Read the actual start of this. Nobody suggests Hamilton SHOULD move.

None of these stories are terribly surprising. I've been saying Hamilton would drop McLaren at the top hat if it suited him. My opinion of Hamilton is already very mixed. If he leaves McLaren, he will show himself to a man of absolutely no moral integrity whatsoever. Imagine having your entire career bankrolled by a team whose team boss sees you as a son, has been provided with two championship-winning cars out of three seasons in Formula One and allowing a respected colleague who's been at the team for the best part of four decades take the blame for you, and then trying to slither like a sleeked snake out of the team.

let him go bring in de Resta

McLaren will try everything they can to keep him. If I were running McLaren, I'd start making inquiries for other drivers right away. Di Resta is a great talent - he made Vettel look pretty ordinary in the junior formulae - and giving him experience this year would cost the team very little, as McLaren have little chance of success. If these stories are true, the only thing stopping me from sacking Hamilton here and now would be how much it costs to get rid of him. No one person is bigger than the team. The employees do not dictate to the employers.

Why would they want to sack Lewis.. hes the only consistantly good performer in the team this year...
He was nothing to do with spygate.... and this latest issue is Maccas fault for telling him to lie.

Give Hamilton a break. I know he's not the most popular guy on the grid for being so aggressive at times but so were many other F1 champs: Schumacher, Senna. He's a great driver and this is only his 3rd season. Mclaren did have great cars in 07 and 08 but hamilton was a rookie in 07. Did anyone really expect him to make NO mistakes? And we're only 2 races into this season, give mclaren time to improve the car. Even if they don't it'll give us a chance to see how good Hamilton really is driving a non-competitive car. Look at how long Button waited for a good car.

Whether or not he leaves mclaren is due to all the off track and after race drama. All Hamilton wants to do is drive and win. Yes, Mclaren made much of that possible but he's proven he was worth the investment. 9 wins in 37 races speaks for itself. Guess it proves again in today's world of pro sports winning isn't everything.

"take the blame for you" You know this? "Slither like a sleeked snake out of the team?" You know this?
Ron has real sons he doesnt need adopted ones. He is also wise enough and experienced enough to know that McLaren and Lewis have no holds on each other beyond a contract and personal choice.Look at history. Both Lewis and McLaren went into this with their eyes open. And at the moment it is only your conjecvture that he is leaving anyway.

I doubt very much that Hamilton is leaving, he has it far too sweet at McLaren and it must be expected that they will rise to the top of the field once again by the end of next season at he very latest. If he does leave however, I will find it extremely difficult to have much respect for him, regardless of what he achieves in the future. Piquet won 3 world championships but he's still a kn*b

I find it funny how last year Hamilton said I wont ever leave this team, this year he says he'd be silly to rule anything out. :hehe:

Indeed. There's plenty of talent waiting for a seat. Although, trouncing someone in junior formulae is not necessarily a way of gauging performance. People who do well in Formula 3 can often go on to do poorly in Formula One, whereas people who are average in Formula 3 can do very well in Formula One. Also worth noting is Schumacher's junior career - his equivalent results weren't as good as Ralf's, but do you even need to think about who was better in Formula One? Di Resta is a great talent, it would seem, but I would not blindly throw a seat at him. Some testing would be necessary for me to make a full judgment.

But McLaren have a lot of options, should Hamilton be gone (or you (or even I) end up in charge!). Paffet, Di Resta, Senna, Di Grassi and Davidson would all be almost-immediately available and could prove good choices. De la Rosa is also there and he's a steady hand. In the longer run, they could try to tempt Vettel, Rosberg, Kubica, Heidfeld or even Massa (you know how much Mercedes would like to have a German driver in one of the seats). So it's not like Hamilton leaving would destroy the team. It would be far more damaging if Whitmarsh was sent packing in the near future. Having lost Ryan already, another senior team member going could cause some level of chaos.

1. Good job you're not running McLaren then.
2. Correct.
3. Correct thats why Alonso was kicked out.
Dont quite get your last two points

Or maybe they need McLaren Fan in charge? There were less of these major controversies before Lewis was driving for the team. :P

Thanks all the same but I think McLaren will do fine without him :)
