None of these stories are terribly surprising. I've been saying Hamilton would drop McLaren at the top hat if it suited him. My opinion of Hamilton is already very mixed. If he leaves McLaren, he will show himself to a man of absolutely no moral integrity whatsoever. Imagine having your entire career bankrolled by a team whose team boss sees you as a son, has been provided with two championship-winning cars out of three seasons in Formula One and allowing a respected colleague who's been at the team for the best part of four decades take the blame for you, and then trying to slither like a sleeked snake out of the team.
let him go bring in de Resta
McLaren will try everything they can to keep him. If I were running McLaren, I'd start making inquiries for other drivers right away. Di Resta is a great talent - he made Vettel look pretty ordinary in the junior formulae - and giving him experience this year would cost the team very little, as McLaren have little chance of success. If these stories are true, the only thing stopping me from sacking Hamilton here and now would be how much it costs to get rid of him. No one person is bigger than the team. The employees do not dictate to the employers.
