assuming they where not running light

They were not. The pace (In the tests) was genuine. What remains to be seen is how much their rivals clawed back and if their rivals unfairly rob them of some of their pace.

Rules are rules.

And they haven't broken any.

That's for the stewards to decide

No, more likely it's for the FiA Court of Appeal to decide.

Indeed, but the stewards must first find it illegal. I doubt the Court of Appeal will go against them.

No, actually the Stewards can find it Legal an it still be Appealed. It should be ruled legal by both though.

No no your right, they can race under appeal. But I doubt it'll come to that. If they are found to be breaking the rules they'll surely just modify the diffuser.

How do you know?
And if the diffuser issue is deemed illegal after Aussie GP then their win (presuming they get it) will be stripped, all their points will be either way.

How do you know?

Because Fernando Alonso and Frank Williams believe it.

If you want to argue with their opinions go ahead, but I believe they wouldn't say so unless they felt sure.

I reckon both Alonso and Sir Frank are dropping hints at the same time about their owns respective team's performance too. Alonso is probably hinting the Renault is going to be horribly slow even for his ability in making a bad car look good and that he wishes he went to Honda at the time when all the rumours about him going there for this year were flying around, and Sir Frank has said he is hoping his team can "be up there with Brawn".

Do they? I thought they were banned from wearing anything like that, rings, watches, chains.
