8Ball first mentioned trouncing in respect to Alonso doing it to Lewis were they in equal cars (He forgot about last year)
Alonso clearly did not trounce Lewis when he had that opportunity. Now ok trounce is too strong a word for what lewis did to Alonso (though he was pretty much trounced till the last two races :hehe: )-same points, count back positions etc. but come on!! Lewis was a rookie Alonso was a 2 time champ. If trounce is to be used it applies more fittingly to Alonso

I didn't forget about 2007 I just forgot to mention Ron's bias towards Lewis Hamilton in the second half of the season. If Alonso was receiving the same treatment that Lewis got in the 2nd half of the season then he might not have won but at least it would have been a fair fight. It didn't matter if Alonso was a 7 time champion if your team principal and mechanics are against you you have got no chance

Everybody talks about McLaren screwing Alonso but produce no evidence to prove it. There is, however, a wealth of evidence to suggest they did get equal treatment. Two such instances are: first, the FIA had inspectors in the team to ensure everything was "even stevens"; and, second, Mercedes wanted Alonso fired, but it was Ron Dennis who allowed him to compete for the title!

Those examples you have given are not very good. Firstly the FIA are useless they probably sent in some junior employee who was only there for work experience. Besides how would it have reflected on the sport commercially if the reigning world champion was booted out of the world championship? That would not have been good for the FIA and especially Mclaren as their sponsors would not have been pleased. So that is why Ron allowed Alonso to compete not because he liked him but because he needed to placate his Spanish sponsors.

Your evidence can't explain away Ron's "we were racing Fernando" comments. That slip of the tongue told everyone that he and his team was firmly behind Lewis Hamilton and all the evidence needed to prove that Alonso did not have a chance.

That was AFTER Alonso had blackmailed Ron. Im sure he did want Lewis to win by that time. There was no way Alonso was staying at McLaren after that, he was getting fired. Of course Ron wanted the guy to win who would put the number 1 on his car. Until the blackmailing they were equal and McLaren were probably as suprised as anyone that Lewis was able to compete with and outrace a double world champion. Even after the blackmailing they will have had equal equipment, I just doubt anyone at mcLaren wanted Alonso to win.

Im sure his side of the garage did. Like Heikki's side does at the moment.

That's correct. As a matter of fact, another dispute broke out between Hamilton's side of the garage and Alonso's side of the garage when it became clear Alonso would be leaving.

That's the problem I have with some drivers. They think they are the team or the only one who matters in it. What they should realise is that they are just employees and hundreds of people are behind their success.

I've no problems with Schumacher in this area. He realised Formula One was a team game and that for the guys in the factory a Ferrari winning meant just as much to them. Senna was the same. Alonso, for instance, is a huffy twat - but there are plenty of other people like him. Piquet Senior was also an ignorant arsehole.

Piquet and Alonso is a bit yes and no. Certainly at Renault Alonso is quite in with the family atmosphere there.

Piquet also had a good rep in the Williams ranks. They used to pull many a pranks on each other.
The best being at a test in Silverstone when Nelson was coming into the pits and thought he'd jump outta the car at the top of the pits and let the car run down the pitlane without him being in it and past his pit crew.
He didnt realise how fast the car was actually going when he jumped out ... oh dear...
