Medals instead cups?! This motor racing not the olympics. I do not want to see podium ceremony's with driver's with medals around their neck as if they just finished the marathon. Keep the points and keep the cups and stop interfering you idiot!

Lets chip in and buy Formula one? Anyone know how much it'll Bernie will sell for?

lets poison him, itll be cheaper.

well dont poison him to kill him, but just enough to kick him into touch....

This whole thing is ridiculous, so ridiculous that i can't help but feel like it's just a joke... but i know it probably isn't. :bs:

Why would the drivers care about a gold medal, when they already get huge trophies for winning the race? Maybe those stupid Santander ones put people off...

Ugh. Medals is a stoopid idea. Why should any of the mid-runners / back-runners bother to even try when they're unlikely to get anything out of a race? At least they way the points work now you get a relatively good range of drivers and teams scoring a few points at each race. Go with the medals and the majority of drivers face ending the season with absolutely nothing to show for it.

The thought of it makes me sick to my stomach. So after 3 years of the amazing Super Aguri, they should deserve no point. I don't think so. Sato's drive in canada was the most fantastic and ballsy thing ever. He earned those points big time.

Also, Alonso would have finished ahead of Kubica this year. Does that sound fair. Not a chance. Kubica was in it till china, and it was marvelous. With the s*** Bernie is coming up with, Kubica would've got nothing and finished alongside Kovy.

Also, Piquet would have finished higher than, Webber, Glock and Truili. Not one bit of that sounds fair.

Its the biggest load of :bs: I've head in all my time, following this sport. If it happens, it'll be a disgrace.

It's interesting how Ecclestone is taking about what's good for the fans now. Our views weren't too important when he was axing off the calendar good circuits.

just an excuse to get it though the guy is all about sponsors and the coperate side.

he needs to realise the fan's make F1 not the sponsors

The sponsors won't go for it either. Why would anyone sponsor Force India, Williams, Honda and the others like them (or any new team for that matter) while they're putting a car/ driver/team together. They're already are far behind the Ferrari and McLaren curve.

No Points - No sponsor dollars.

Just showing up to the track isn't enough for long term contracts and that's where the real competition and real money is.

It's horrible, needs way more thought than it has been given so far,
Somebody like Hamilton, Massa or Raikkonen could win the first 5 races and then DNF for the rest of the season and still win the title with a tiny bit of luck.
And there would be no point in any of the mid field or backmarkers running, as the cars who finish between 4th and 8th do not get anything at all, why bother turning up?
Then there's the fact that the championship could be won half way through the season, which to be honest is a bit pathetic, as it's way more exciting when the title abttle goes right down to the wire like the past 2 seasons.

Pfft, guess they'll still go through with it, BE only cares about money, not his fans or even the teams involved.

whats with every little idea that either Max or Bernie coming up with getting put in place straight away? talk about dictatorship :banghead:

because its not up for discussion with them, they come up with ideas and say 'thats the way its going to be, take t or leave'.
they are old farts and really don't have a firm grasp on modern motor sport.
