I watched the 2nd practice highlights last night... it was a bit weird how no-one seemed interested in going out when it started raining, that seems really bizarre to me seeing as it's Spa. Surely it could only be a benefit them if they had wet setup data? Or were the teams worried about their cars going into the wall (at turn 9 it seems)?

in McLarens friday media debrief the drivers commented it was like ice on the kerbs so did not do any running until it started to dry to save the car from damage, i rekn most teams would have done the same!

no one did much running in P3 either so it would seem alot of drivers are going into Q without a 100% setup but then i guess with the weather being so changeable at spa you rarely get a 100% setup

It seems that all the German drivers look good in wet weather this weekend. Heidfeld was fastest today, Vettel, Rosberg and Glock have tended to post times near the top of the sheets and Sutil has had a moment or two where he has put his Force India in a position where it would not normally be. I'm hoping that the race will throw up some unexpected results, like a Renault or Toyota winning, though I don't think any amount of weather would be extreme-enough for that. A BMW, though, could have a stab at such a result if everything fell in to place.

Kovalainen is looking pretty good here, so it's possible that he can add to the podium count that he really does need to increase at the moment. Similarly, Heidfeld has managed to match or beat Kubica all throughout the practice sessions, so maybe he could get some results that will at least please Theissen. If it's dry, I think it may be a Massa weekend (unless McLaren were sandbagging on Friday whilst the Ferrari ran well without the hot conditions that seemed necessary for it to work properly), but I'm really hoping that it's a little more unpredictable than that.

Well that was bloody rubbish, I thought Williams' new front wing was supposed to stop this annoying understeer in fast corners, but it's not made a sodding difference!!! 2009 can't come sooner enough!! :banghead:

... but go Bourdais!!! Into top 10 again and got P1 at the end of Q1!! :D:clap:

Pole and hopefully into a pole! The championship belongs to Massa and Ferrari so tomorrow Lewis Hamilton had better back off and let Massa and Kimi finish 1 and 2.

It's annoying how STR blatantly have enough pace to get well into Q3, but when they get there they just go defensive on the fuel strategy! :irked:

Brilliant from Lewis and the Toro Rossos. I was glad Heikki came in 3rd tbh, because it should make the first few laps much more interesting from a McLaren-Ferrari duelling point of view. Was surprised that neither of the Toyota's got into Q3, but Trulli gave a reason for that when he was interviewed later, he was using a secondary engine (is that right?) which cost him '0.4 secs a lap.'

Yet another poor showing from Kimi. I'm expecting him on the podium tomorrow, but he should have been at least on the front row of such a Ferrari-favouring and a Raikkonen-favouring circuit.

Hoping that Bourdais manages to get into the points, he deserves it after his performances in qualifying.

All round it's shaping up to be a great race, and when you add the potential for rain into the mix...tomorrow could be a classic. On the other hand it could be a complete let-down...but let's be positive!

So your admitting Hammy would have to back off a bit for it to be a Ferrari 1-2. Your wise beyond your years young Jedi :hehe:
