Hamilton has always been arrogant and you notice it very much when you are a real fan of F1. Wheras all the FAGS who just bum Hamilton and no nothing about F1 (See topic: F1 Know Nothings) dont realise he is very much a FAG alot of the time and to them he is an Angel.

Everyone here is a real F1 fan you stupid bigot :ranting:

Now, now to the both of you: can we maintain some decorum here and refrain from using words like fag or stupid?

Ey ey captain

Some of our newer member's apparently overlooked the forum guideline's so for them I present this tidbit of info:

Forum Guidelines - Forumula1.com F1 Forum

For those who have been regular members of Forumula1.com during the 2007 season, you will know first hand how the controversy and politics of our favourite sport can spill over from the F1 paddock and onto our forums. With many of you supporting different teams and drivers I would be naive to expect everyone to get on with one another. For the reasons above I have created this set of guidelines to further the enjoyment of all members on this forum.

Forum Etiquette

I expect members to respect the views of other people and debate such views constructively. Those who persist in using threatening or insulting behaviour will be thrown in a very sticky sin bin. We operate a zero tolerance approach to racism and spam, and these two will lead to an instant, permanent ban. Please report all objectionable content and spam to a moderator.

Should you have an issue with another member, don't fight it out on the forums. Ninety percent of the time it will be a misunderstanding, and nothing that cannot be resolved with a well placed "emoticon". If you can not resolve it by contacting each other, contact me or one of the moderation team and we'll sort you out! <-An example of a well placed emoticon.

Yes I agree yet I remember a time when forum member's had agreed to let lay the shenanigan's of the FIA and '07 season but that does not seem to be the case. In all honesty that part should have been deleted from my post but in hindsight it could be a good thing that it was left in.

We are all gonna argee and disagree as if we were married couple's because we feel and love our sport and team's so much. Yet when, as DD mentioned, all decorum and respect is lost because one member's opinion does not agree with another's where does that leave us?

We all have a love/hate relationship which has worked very well up to this point so let's all continue the affair!

In all honesty it wasn't the opinion that bothered me, however the words used did. I have no particularly strong alliance with any team and I know that the insult wasn't aimed at me, I'm just a fan of the sport and friendly banter.

So yes long may the affair continue

Ok yep
I seem to get one with everyone here (well at the moment) (I have no reason not to get on with the people on here). Probably the only place that I do get on with everyone!

I still don't understand this thread. What the hell is Hamilton supposed to do? Imagine the post-race press conference:

"So Lewis, another great win. How was it for you?"
"Geez, it wasn't that great. I was only a second a lap faster than everyone else and maybe next time if I change a few things I'll be able to finish higher than first..."

Oh come on! :banghead:

The central fact is that up to a point there's nothing wrong with an F1 driver having a pretty healthy sense of his own abilities. Hamilton has dominated championships and races in the past, but he's also had bad patches when he's gritted his teeth, got down to it and found another level. I think he's doing it again now. I can't help but feel that people's problems are not to do with Hamilton himself, but with all the "baggage" that's come with him in terms of media mania, ITV pundits quivering with homoerotic excitement, and new fans coming in with little knowledge of F1. Well we were all first-time F1 fans once, and the rest of it isn't Hamilton's fault.

Let me put it this way: after years of supporting Tim Henman, following a guy who is a class act and actually wins stuff is a welcome change for us Brits...

Nah, I don't think so. I think he is generally intelligent, well spoken and polite. You've got to give it a bit of "yeah baby" when you win and do well. It speaks of self confidence and assurance. I thought Lewis struck the right balance on the radio after Hockenheim and especially during the post race press conference. It raised my estimation of the guy's character, in all honesty.

The British are generally big on self effacement and modesty from their sporting heros, and don't like to see ego. Don't know why that is.

I actually think that if Lewis has a problem its lack of cockyness. Having his Dad constantly hanging around is a big psychlogical marker, I think. It might be understandable in karting, but Jaysus, the guy's a Formula One driver now Dad, how about letting him be his own man? (And Lewis, maybe its time to leave the nest, eh?) Can't think of a previous F1 driver who constantly had a parent in the garage.

Isnt Felipe's dad at most GP's?

Alonso's father is also at the majority of Grands Prix. I think what TF really means is that he has never seen a driver whose father has been so involved in their son's career. Where as Massa and Alonso Senior rarely ever seen and let their son go about his business, Anthony Hamilton hangs on like a limpet.
#57217
no doubting Anthony is fully involved with his Son possibly living his dreams through Lewis but its also possible that the image people have is the image the media portays. If they filmed Alonso's and Felipe's dad all the time and made a big deal about them maybe then people would think the same way.

Well, that's the thing, bud, they aren't filmed all the time and they don't talk to the press because they try to remain in the background.
