Back on topic, I really wouldn't mind too much if there was no GP in Australia. I'm not too sentimental over these things, I not a fan of the circuit, I'm no use at getting up/staying up, and there always seems to be someone telling me the result before the re-run comes on. There are other track I'd much rather see back on the calendar - Nurburgring Nordschliefe, Montjuic, the old Hockenhiem, etc

I think that it is good that there is a GP in Aus. but maybe a better circuit. There is good support for F1 in Aus while the circus is there but I dont think that too many Ausis follow the sport when not in Aus. :(

Perhaps Webber should "give Bernie his opinion" on losing the Australian GP. ;)

Damn, I only wanted it moved away from the season opener. I liked Albert Park.

Nick Heidfeld went around Nordschleife in a BMW Sauber F1.06 (or F1.07 - I forget which) and it was said to be extremely challenging for the driver. It would also be hard to make the track meet modern safety requirements, if it was possible at all. But I would love for it to be in F1 if it were possible.

I live in aus an i always have to stay up/Getting up. so they want a night race to make it more convenient. So i guess the brits arnt mourning people :(

No bud, 2010 contract expires which i think means 2009 should be the last?????
But bernie said that if melbourne didnt pay more for the race or make it a night race then it was game over for australia, as a whole.
I thought business was about negotiation, not threats. Bernie is in his twilight years now and is clearly losing his faculties of clear and sound reasoning.
:x
