Whatever happened to having a bit of class? Patting the opposition on the back and saying "Job well done chaps, we'll beat you next time."

Yes this season had more politics then I ever remember, yes the battling off the track was just as intense as on the track. McLaren lost on both accounts. Perhaps Ron needs to be a little more politically savvy instead of trying to take on the whole pitlane.

I hear Ferrari were given technology found at Roswell...

It has to be true! Some people have seen E.T. in the basket next to the spare tires

Anyway, congrats to Kimi. Hard to say if he was best driver of the season, but much as I can recall he was the best sportsman - no scandals, no press crap, no teammate (or anyone else) bitch slapping, no crazy behavior on track, no pushing others off the track either... his title is well deserved, much as I am concerned.

How about the scandal of Massa publicly proclaiming (after being ordered by Ferrari) that he would help Kimi in ANY way he could - and contrary to FIA rules?

No my friend - Massa was the fastest guy in Brazil. and if the race was allowed to run its course without the team orders Massa would have won and Kimi would not be world champion right now.

So although I am pleased it was not Alonso that won the championship, I cannot sit back and allow people to say Kimi won the race fair and square without replying - because he didn’t.

Fastest laps:

1) Kimi Räikkönen Ferrari 1:12.445

2) Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1:12.506

3) Felipe Massa Ferrari 1:12.584

4) Robert Kubica BMW 1:12.686

5) Kazuki Nakajima Williams-Toyota 1:13.116

6) Fernando Alonso McLaren-Mercedes 1:13.150

7) Nico Rosberg Williams-Toyota 1:13.159

8) Jarno Trulli Toyota 1:13.361

9) Ralf Schumacher Toyota 1:13.368

10) Nick Heidfeld BMW 1:13.452

and what does this prove? Massa slowed down up to and after the 2nd pit stop - your fastest laps are meaninless

Nice point DD. I'm sick to death of reading the one eyed siege mentality of all the McCheater fans on this forum.

You didn't win guys, I know this was your best chance in years and you are all bleeding but deal with it like men not bleating little boys...

It is a pity some Ferrari fans could not be as magnanimous in victory as McLaren fans are in defeat.

It is a conspiracy theory thread......

so i'll continue.

There were some who had seen more evidence at the hearing in Paris than was made public and thought that the penalty McLaren recieved was very lenient and that they should've been thrown out of both championships and not allowed to race for the rest of 2007 and the whole of 2008.

If that had happened how badly would that have affected the whole of F1 and how much would the FIA/WMSC want to avoid that?

If they had enough evidence to kick them out of the constructors championship then why not the drivers championship also?

The way my story goes is that McLaren were allowed to run their illegal cars to give the impression they were still racing for the drivers championship and knowing Hamilton would comply for the sake of McLarens future they let him race as long as he could without taking the title but that definitely not being the case for Alonso who would be quite happy to see McLaren out of the way with him at another team next year so they messed around with his tyre pressures and he only found out about the whole deal when he was called to meet the WMSC just before the final race.

And Vito Corleone himself prepared the concrete boots for whomever that wouldn't go along with the plan.

Well, not quite. McLaren would've been kicked out for at least the 2008 season after 'new evidence' had been uncovered. Must've been real brown trouser time for Ron up till the 2nd round of pitstops in Brazil.
