...thats the whole concept of the Tifosi and the Azzuri and all these politicalisations of sports. ofcourse they dont get because they dont even know what they dont get. Sports is about competition, a leveler, where all interact in one big arena. Instead the whole Tifosi army/family nonsense goes beyond partisan support and into segregation and exclusiveness - thats where the sporting aspect stops. And the captive face painted, s-agitated supporter gets to completely divorce sporting performance or competition from the card carrying membership of the party...

Really? Then, maybe you could explain to me how competition is found in a sport where there is a freeze on development?
Maybe you could explain why Mercedes has suggesting it will likely vote against further in-season development next year?

Mercedes has suggested that it will not support a move to lift Formula 1's engine freeze for next year, amid fears it will raise costs.

F1's Strategy Group approved the idea of allowing limited in-season development of engines in the future, even though Mercedes, Lotus and Williams voted against it.

For the rule to be implemented for 2015 it will need unanimous support in the F1 Commission, something that Mercedes thinks is unlikely.

"I think we can see certain benefits of looking at it," Wolff told AUTOSPORT.

"But in general terms, our philosophy is let's decide on the regulations early enough to have stable regulations.

"That is very important for F1 - and must not make kneejerk reactions."

The complex future of F1 engines

He added: "Who invented this governance process must have given it a thought, and the reasoning is you don't want to have regulations changing three months before the start of the season.

"That translates into escalating costs, out of control costs, and this is why there is a process in place and that it needs to be unanimous after a certain date.

"For the following year you need a majority vote and you can decide on technical and sporting regulations based on a majority.

"The earlier the decisions are being made, the better you can prepare and the less you spend. We all have the responsibility to look at costs.

"Although the sport remains priority number one, the show remains priority number one, we cannot ignore commercial realities."

SURPRISE AT MEETING LEAK

Wolff also expressed surprise that Red Bull team boss Christian Horner revealed details about the Strategy Group discussions on the engine freeze changes during a press conference.

"The Strategy Group is a group to look at many ideas and many angles of the sport," he said.

"It is always surprising to see and hear that things that are discussed in the Strategy Group end up in the public domain two hours later."

Of course, Mercedes/Wolff maintains concerns for this decision; but, I doubt anyone is fooled by that.

Note of interest: Wolff was surprised that what was spoken about behind closed doors was revealed in public.
I guess Wolff likes having the option of open discussions (similar to the Lounge) within a like-minded group.

Are you comparing a closed meeting within a business....to a forum on the net? Are you REALLY using that to prove a point about the safehouse? REALLY?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I will say it's rather bizarre behavior though to be asked a question in a public forum and then answer that question in a private section of that forum. Bizarre behavior indeed, but I'm sure you had your reasons for that.

@spankyham
At least 2 members Hamms and I, are still waiting for an answer or explanation for some frankly bizzare and factually incorrect statements regarding the introduction and reasoning for the 2014 hybrid regulations

but I'm sure you had your reasons for that.

I'm sure if you applied for the Safehouse you'd see his brilliance displayed in text over there.

:wavey::wavey: IheartKimmi here, I still support Kimi and Jenson and MacLaren. I just can't be bothered with the circular arguments and the way Lewis fans can bash everyone else. I am too old to care if Lewis has the hunger and Nico doesn't. I have followed F1 since the late 70's. I am a fan in the way that I watch it, read about it, have been to many races. I thought a forum was an area of discussion? I see that several members of this forum like to ridicule me, because I don't like Lewis. I have said many times that he is fast but I still don't like him. I like Jenson, I like many other drivers and I want them to do well but I have never said anything bad about Lewis. So for those of you who we're missing me I am back :drink:

I realize the best defence is the offense; but, it's also pretty lame!

Oops wrong thread! This is the Kimi V Vettel thread. How do you see that panning out? Both drivers have something to prove.
