Interesting that nobody has chosen Alonso. If I could have split my vote I would have as both him and Ricciardo have been unbelievably good so far against ex-WDC team mates. But the fact Ricciardo has demolished Vettel just edged it for me. But I am stunned no-one thinks Alonso has been the best!

It is funny actually seeing how many Ferrari fans we have on this board.

If it allowed me to split my vote i'd have given half each. I dont think there is anything to choose. I cant think of one error that either of them have made this season. RB have the slightly better car and Ricciardo has got the 2 wins, but id argue those 2 have been better than both Hamilton and Rosberg

Tonight's Sky F1 Show D.O.T.Y.S.F.
Top Two
Lewis 29%
Daniel R. 24%

Nico R 4%

Much as I think Daniel Ricciardo is a good racer...he was helped by the safety car at the last race, then his team made the right decisions ...he was on a good strategy to win the race....cant help but love this bloke..
On the other hand Lewis was not helped by the SC & his team put him on a crap strategy...& tried to make him let him team-mate past.....like they did at Silverstone in Quali.....(If you don't think you can go any faster Lewis, let Nico past)..
Dan's team have been on it....for him.

I have voted for Lewis...he has shown incredible driving skills & self belief to get from the back of the grid to the podium in the last two races....& his total domination of the 4 races where he didn't have any mechanical problems...this was his reply to being wrong footed at the opener in Oz, when his super pole ....was snuffed out by failure of a 50p part, causing him to DNF......

Sky have had their say, and so have sky's viewers. And the picture is somewhat different
. Viewers see a gulf of difference between Rosberg and Hamilton.

Sorry but I still feel there is SOME bias towards Hamilton in that vote. Alonso and Ricciardo have been better than Hamilton this season. Of the two of them, other than Ricciardo's DNF in Malaysia - only once has either of them been beaten by their world champion team mate in races.

Also neither of these two have made any mistakes all season, whereas Hamilton HAS for me made mistakes. Although out of the Merc drivers he has been better. My ratings for the drivers so far would be:

Hamilton: A
Rosberg: B+
Ricciardo: A+
Alonso: A+
Bottas: A
Vettel: B
Hulkenburg: A-
Button: B
Massa: B-
Magnussen: B-
Perez: B
Raikkonen: C+
Vergne: B-
Grosjean: A-
Kyvat: B-
Bianchi: A-
Sutil: C
Ericsson: C-
Maldonado: C-
Gutierrez: C-
Chilton: B-
Kobayashi: C-

To be fair no expected the Mercedes unreliability to be so one sided, were it not, Nico would not be leading at the halfway mark.

Ricciardo has made mistakes, as has Alonso, its just that Lewis' have been more costly. Also Riccs teammate has had more unreliability, and Kimi and Seb do not even rank any votes signifying Nico has performed on a much higher level. Lewis has had the tougher teammate out of the 3 and has had the highest percentage unreliabilty, if we are to judge them on this basis

To be honest
Alonso is probably the only thing saving Ferrari right now, he is definitely outperforming, like evry season. We have just got use to it now. Probably, driver of this decade so far in my opinion.

Ricciardo or Bottas.

Don't know why Lewis has so many votes, we already know he's been a world class driver for years, also surprised by the lack of votes to Rosberg, he's done a pretty good job this year keeping Lewis honest.
