I actually said to a friend (in the real world) before the World Cup that England would not make it out of the group stages when I heard who were in their group!

The problem with English football in my opinion is there is not enough grass roots football happening these days, not many English players make it to the highest level, instead the top teams like to go shopping with their mega-wallets overseas. Until this trend changes I don't believe England will do much in major tournaments.

I was near Lake Geneva yesterday evening to join a big crowd of people (a friend dragged me there, I had almost no interest) watching Switzerland VS France.

Oh man...it was so much fun just being a neutral (take that Switzerland) and laughing at everyone's reactions for every chance/goal and how half the crowd left after the 1st half. It became a bit of a mess after the match, we had like 20 police officers coming into the crowd to break up fights and people starting fires. :hehe:

How come we don't get this kind of passion for F1 though....I'd totally start a fire after a race like Canada. :crying:

Because f1 fans are more civilised. Unless your the tifosi and like to smash up other cars.
