Maybe... just maybe... if Coulthard had stated that he was assessing the "relative" performance of the teams, thusfar!
Would have been accepted as his opinion and none of us have a problem with people offering their opinion... right? :wavey:

Thing is that he works for a national broadcaster to do a job, which is to commentate and offer opinions. He is also paid by Red Bull as an ambassador, brown noser, lobbyist. The Bbc job shouldn't be used as a platform for his RBR. But it has been constantly and irritatingly

Admittedly this latest opportunity to do RBR pr is on the telegraphs payroll but it insults the intelligence

It would be like the spokesman for some terrorist group working for the national news and starting each bit of news with 'they are a misunderstood bunch and nice guys and today they bombed so and so'

Not saying other commentators don't get brown envelopes and steak dinners but at least try not to rub it in our faces when we fund the bbc who can't even provide F1 through the year

I think we can all agree though that the only pundit worth watching is........ EDDIE JORDAN!

Bias, strange, and makes crazy suggestions yes; but when he interview team bosses/drivers he always pushes the hard questions and backs them into corners!

Plus he's bloody hilarious.

Lemon Ive never loved you more than I do now. EJ is a Walker in the making, and BBC viewers don't appreciate what they've got.

Has anyone else read the half term report by Hugh Podmore on drivers? On the news section of this site.
http://www.forumula1.com/news/half-term-report-2013/
He scores Vettel, Raikonen and Alonso nine out of ten and Hamilton eight out of ten. I find that completely inexplicable. I left a comment yesterday but it hasn't appeared yet.

RC is now on his case. Hugh is unlikely to be alive for long :yikes:

Seems a fair assessment all round except Massa. He's done better than to deserve a measly 4 out of 10! He's pushing Alonso a lot more than he has done in the past. Granted the results don't really show that but if you look at lap times it tells a different story.

And first half of the year was good too. Part of me thinks that they decided to design the car around Alonso and that's when it started falling apart for them.

Yeah, its a bit difficult with Massa. I agree he has definitely not been a slouch this year, and has out-qualified Alonso 3 times, he still has been off the track and crashed too many times (practice & race) - although they havent all been his fault, its not good for his image.

If they have given Alonso a 9 - Id say massa needs a 6. 4 is a bit too low. Its the same as Max Chilton.

Have to agree with that.

Well you would say that. Your opinion of Hamilton has been stated frequently, so I'd expect you to agree with his assessment of the top four drivers. But most pundits disagree.
