I wish Sutil would get updated, I will take him if he's a bargain. I can afford 13,500,000.

Alright, I gave up waiting for Sutil. I doubt he would have fit in my budget.

So to start, I went a bit conservative to save back some money if it turns out ok.

He was $15m anyway, although same as Maldonado, so you can still trade, surely you must have millions and millions spare anyway. Maldonado is a risky one i think... (edit - our teams are actually pretty similar, haha. Great minds and all that... )

Gonna try to play it like last season, pick the relatively cheap guys now and trade up to the big scorers when my guys increase in value (surely Bottas and Gutierrez will) or one of the likes of Red Bull or Alonso has a bad race. Got my doubts over McLaren but i have enough cash left to switch Perez for maybe Rosberg if i change my mind... Couldn't resist picking Lotus and Raikkonen either but i thought they are pretty good value considering last season. I am just praying they aren't as bloody unreliable as in testing!!

Bottas and Guttierez are a popular pair! I gave a little on the driver front since it's easier to pick up a driver bargain later on than it is to pick up a chassis or engine bargain. They tend to not fluctuate in pricing nearly as much. Last year at some point or another, Vettel, Alonso, Hamilton, were all on the bargain basement bin for a bit.

Perez will be a top-8 driver for the price of a midfielder. He's a steal. Once he snags a podium, trade him off for someone like Vettel, Alonso, or Hamilton who DNF'ed.

Finally found this thread! I used the "search" function - how handy it can be.

Blown My Diffuser return for another bash at the fantasy crown.

Drivers fielded for Melbourne are (in order of preference):

Lewis Hamilton (obviously)
Sergio Perez
Esteban Gutierrez
Valteri Bottas (talent)

Team is Lotus
Engine is Williams Renault

My choices are similar to some others here. Lewis Hamilton is a no-brainer, Perez was a bargain since he's in a fast car but is relatively inexperienced so he was cheap, and Gutierrez and Bottas are in there because I can't decided if the Sauber or the Williams is faster. Those two were cheaper than their teammates because they're rookies and their abilities are relatively unknown so they're both an educated gamble I guess you could say. With the money I had left, Lotus and WIlliams as Engine and Team respectively felt like a pretty good combo. I'm more confident for this Melbourne 2013 than I was for Melbourne 2012 with my choices.
