If you put you circumstances into the following link, it will tell you how much benefits you could get in the UK.

If I gave up work I would be £28 worse off a month on Benefits than I am working full time. As some of you guys know what I do for a living I think that it is sickening and wrong.

What link....?

To be fair Oxford is one of the most expensive places to rent (I am sure Scotty would agree about that) For what I pay for a 2 bed flat, I could rent a 4 bed house back home in Wales. So that adds up bigg style for what you can claim

Yeah, Oxford is sickeningly expensive alright, especially the areas i (need to) live in. I pay 30% more equivalent rent to other cities i have lived in - the sooner i can get out of there the better, in terms of money anyway. The amount we pay for a 4 bed student terraced house (that is a complete dive and not very big), you could rent a 4 bed detached house in a nice area of my 'home cities', Derby/Nottingham.

Yeah, but Derby / Nottingham are 'up north' - its worth paying the premium to live in a respectable area.

[Insert BIG winky smiley to emphasise that I am very much joking]
