I forgot to record qualifying and just caught the last bit of it... once again Medium and Hard tomorrow? How did the Ferrari handle the hard compound?

Since you're a day ahead of everyone else, who's on pole?

HA! Getting ahead of myself indeed!

He beat him in Spa.

Yup,that was in my mind. But I mean podium :D And maybe a victory

He deserves a victory but I think his spirit has been broken by being Alonso's team mate - a common trait of all of Alonso's team mates where Alonso has been allowed to rule the roost.

I've had the deserves argument before, he doesn't deserve one until he wins a race within the rules of the Sport or loses to someone else who cheated.

Broken spirit?
BS.

By that measure he shouldnt have been able to get good results in spa and monza fp. I mean... If his spirit is broken and that affected his performance, then it should continue that way, or is his spirit suddenly healed?

I say he simply took a long time to get the car working for him. Similar to Button an to some extent Webber.

If these guys need their spirit babied then they shouldnt be in F1, they should be auditioning for Broadway plays.

Ferrari 1-2 !! see it coming.

Doubt it. The car isn't good enough.

Disagree, despite having no DRS, Schumacher was only 0.8 slower than Alonso, Button and Lewis and only 0.65 slower than Rosberg. We don't know the fuel, but with DRS costing 0.7 seconds a lap, that was pretty much the difference between him and the pace at the moment.

I think Ferrari are very strong, for Massa to lap for a long time in the 29's and dip into the 28's at the end of session shows they will be up there, McLaren are about the same pace though. Red Bull are up there with McLaren and Ferrari on race pace, but their low fuel pace is poor, and with such a close field, they will struggle to make the top 10 and therefore can't see them troubling the podium unless we get a Spa style shunt at the front.

For Pole tomorrow, I firmly believe it is between Alonso, Hamilton and Button, with Massa, the Merc's and Kimi not too far behind.

Let me refresh your selective memory. The only reason he got a good result in Spa was because half the competitive field was taken out by Grosjean.

Might be a tad harsh.

Even given I'm a pretty optimistic Tifoso, there's no denying that Felipe's form has been on the improve and, that his race at Spa was pretty good. He made up most positions if I'm not mistaken and banged in a few fastest laps as well (fair enough Lewis and Nando were taken out, but there were still some pretty handy drivers left on the track).

Given the little bit of luck all drivers need every now and then, and the fact that the F2012 is competitive, I would not be surprised to see Felipe come away with one of his best results in a long time.

I'll be in Suffolk all weekend. No forum, no chatroom, no NOTHING.

I'm also drunk. :drink:

Is that a reaction to being in Suffolk?

A tad. He's been much improved but it wasn't just Fernando and Lewis, there were a couple of pretty good Saubers which we never got to see both of which could have tussled with him and then Grosjean himself.

Let's see what tomorrow brings, with the low downforce, mechanical grip becomes that much more important so I wasn't surprised to see today's results.
