Well then have several suppliers, but have the mandate that they must supply to whoever wants their tyre. That way if one supplier really is better it becomes the de facto soul supplier because everyone wants the best tyre. But the minute it drops off and starts making stupid tyres that you have to drive round slowly on, the minute that happens, teams switch to another supplier. Market forces.Pointless having cutting edge technology and the best drivers in the world if we never get to see the ultimate potential of either.

Racechick Pirelli are instructed by the FIA to make the tyres that way!

Yes, but surely not as bad as they've made them? If there were more tyre suppliers they would find a way of meeting FIA demands without producing such a duff tyre. They'd have more incentive to get it right. More gradual drop off, ability to push on it etc. Its too easy for them now with no competition.

What are you on about? They arent made bad! They are doing what theyre designed to do and they are designed by instruction of the FIA.

If you have a beef about the tyres take it up with the FIA.

I didnt mean they were made badly, duff was an poor choice of word. Just not conducive to getting the best out of car and driver.

Different rubber but same argument really... it just forces the "driver" to finish quickly, what's the fun in that?!?!

Yellow for the banana flavored 'Chunky Monkey', red for the 'Cherry Buster', blue for the 'Blueberry Antioxidants', green for the 'Granny Smith' (yes, oldies need some luvin', too), white for 'Like a Virgin', and purple for 'Welcome to DD's Dungeon'.
