Lewis has really learned and matured over the recent difficult/lean years.

I hope he never gains enough maturity to learn "the finger". :hehe:

Lewis Hamilton has been ranked as the world most marketable athlete in 2014. Apparently.

Doesn't surprise me.

I have never heard of the others in the top 3

Is that because you dont follow Cricket or American Football?

Yes. I would of thought people like tiger woods or Micheal Jordan, people like that would be high on the marketable list. Even David Beckham etc

I suppose what I mean is people that are famous for people who do not follow that sport.

I know. I was pulling your chain. It all comes down to numbers I suppose, and the $$ they can make. Could an Indian Cricket Superstar generate more $$ than Beckham? Id say so.

Michael Jordan is old and had his fame, Tiger Woods has a stain of being a womanizer and just not that "it" any more. Some athletes go their whole career without being "it" yet still do well in their sport and in the bank account. But transcendence is an intangible. Personality, performance, perception, relevance and simply a cool unattainable factor. We live in a GLOBAL world that few personalities can impact.

Doesn't surprise me either RC, like it doesn't surprise me that Vettel never had it even with the multiple WDC run. If Lewis manages to win his second, he'll be hard to take out of that spot for a bit.

Beckham, Hamilton, Bolt, Pistorias( for the wrong reasons) off the top of my head.

Lewis isn't happy with his advantage over Rosberg, he feels he should be further clear so that it doesn't have to be as close as it was in Spain and Bahrain. He knows he did well to stay ahead at the two races where Rosberg was faster, but it was marginal, and he doesn't want it marginal. He says he's a perfectionist , and I guess there are areas he feels he is coming up short.
