If drivers were artists...

The media treat Vettel, Alonso and now Rosberg like Monet, Michelangelo, and Picasso; they treat Hamilton like that autistic kid that could draw any scene from looking at it for five minutes.

I'm stumped as to why Rosberg and Vettel's racecraft is supposedly better than Hamilton's. Alonso I could buy, but not those two. Nobody was sure if Rosberg was really any good until last year, and Vettel's 'racecraft' was founded in a superior car, which when it wasn't superior left him floundering in whatever position he found himself in. I'd say Vettel's success has stunted his racecraft.

Hamilton's lack of racecraft almost won him a crown on his first year. Ridiculous.

For some reason it's always been that way with Lewis, from when he first stated in f1 . Always people putting him down and every time he proves them wrong and moves on.

He only wins cos he went straight into a fast McLaren- wrong
He doesn't focus- wrong
he can't look after his tyres- wrong
He only wants to be a rap star- wrong
He's distracted by his girlfriend- wrong
He lacks intelligence- wrong
He can't read races- wrong
He's too aggressive- wrong
He won't manage the fuel- wrong

What's the next one? Let me guess.
He only wins because he's in a fast Mercedes.
Some people will always find a reason to discredit Lewis Hamilton. Maybe they just can't stand supreme talent.

Its partly lazyness on the part of the media and ignorance on the part of the audience who lap up these stories. For example with football the accepted and easy to digest cliche is that black footballers are all about strength and pace and can be relied upon not to do much thinking. That went tits up when Thierry Henry turned up and replaced Bergamp perfectly in the cerebral visionary role at Arsenal. But never mind the average oik on the terraces doesnt need to be confused by news pieces that makes them think so lets quietly drop it

In F1 its half wits like Brundle who was so clever that he never won a single race yet is an expert on categorising and simplifying things for the average F1 oik. So we have Lewis who is instinctive and all natural talent with no finesse, we have Kobayashi who was cleverly dubbed by Brundick as Koyabashi the kamikaze, then we have the arrogant German, one MS, then we have the slowest lame duck perenial underachiever as the smooth driver who does little because he thinks his way through everything, then we have the petulant and spoiled semi German Vettel (actually that one might be spot on :hehe: ). And now ofcourse we have the professor Nico who speaks 5 languages and got an engineering degree (like an engineering degree means anything when the guy who has it hasntc created any engineering marvels or even had an engineering job, its genius just to get a degree apparently)

As far as Nico goes, lovely guy but most definitely a bit of an airhead. Have you heard him gush sometimes in interviews, and what about the Petronas plugging?
But as long as Lewis is faster they must all be geniuses for whom the latest regs will provide a trump card over balls and speed on a race track :yikes:

I think you might be onto something, cookie. German's have natural racecraft, and sons inherit their father's.

On Australian TV Alan Jones gushed about Keke's racecraft even as he stood second on the podium to Hamilton. Keke.

Nico goes missing in too many races to be considered as having race craft on the level of alonso and Lewis. I mean, if you end up at the back of the field and dont ever fight through to the front what happened to your racecraft? Or maybe racecraft is to start at the front and win in a dominant car.

Anyone who has seen Lewis in the junior formulae (where race craft is much more accentuated) and questions his race craft will be smoking something that looks like weed but probably isnt because the guy is too dumb to score real stuff

To be fair he is only winning because he is in a fast car; which is the exact reason why anyone has ever won an F1 race. (That or rain)

Lewis deserved a car this dominant a long time ago!

I know this is a Ham support thread, but why does Lewis deserve a dominant car and other drivers don't?

I feel The Hulk© deserves a dominant car after being overlooked by top teams for so long too.

Who said other drivers dont? Why does 'lewis deserve a dominant car' mean only he does and no one else

If you feel someone else deserves a dominant car why not say so and you could even say why, why jump on Lewis

Sorry, at what point did I jump on Lewis? I simply asked why he feels Lewis deserves a dominant car...

Sounds like the old 'whats so special about Lewis' or 'there is nothing special about Lewis' leading by extrapolation to 'his fans are unreasonable about his capability' ending with 'he should not be supported on a Lewis support thread as this is kicking the other drivers'

Lewis doesn't need a dominant car in order to win, just a competitive one. That's why I'm a fan.

Because lesser drivers have had them.

This. And don't want to see the driver i support in a totally dominant car, makes the WDC mean much more and the races and championship more exciting. There's drivers who deserve competitive cars, not sure about dominant.
