Pardon my ignorance, but wjst is the point of thanks giving?

Good question!! I guess it's important to remember that most of the early settlers came
with very little, so they needed to start a new life from scratch. They had to build homes,
plants crops, etc... etc... and, at the end of the growing season, which included long hours
day in and day out, they were thankful for the harvest they'd produced.

So they celebrated "thanks giving"! It's become a tradition to observe this statutory holiday
on the first Monday in October, "up here" in Canada, where we have a much shorter growing
season than in most areas of the U.S.of A., where they celebrate it on the last Thursday in
November!

Thanks for asking!! :wavey:

Finished at 10:30am today, after we had to dismiss the students at 9am. The cheers were almost deafening when it was announced. :hehe:

Why?

((...not why were the cheers deafening, as that's self-explanatory!! :hehe: ))

School has been declared at risk due to an electrical fault, so it's been closed. Sadly, they cut the power before I could shut down the servers properly, so Monday morning will be fun!

Dent, have you heard of impero software? It's manages computer systems in schools ( businesses too) it's in secondary schools, not just uk, and may be rolled out to primaries. Be interested to get your views since you operate in that arena. Website is www.imperosoftware.com

I've been wanting to try Impero out for quite a while now. I did work on a project at another school which included setting up Impero, but that part of the work was dealt with by another technician so I never got to see it in action, sadly. I've used LanSchool, NetSupport and Ranger previously in schools for remote control purposes, but I like the look of some of Impero's extra features (though whether or not they'd be better than the separate solutions we use, I don't know). I can't be much help beyond that, I'm afraid.

That's for the homemade gnocchi I made last night!!

Lunch anyone? :D

What is sugo?

Swmbo is out working at a baby shower so I am baby sitting. Have an hour and then time to put the roast dinner on.
