What I do think is that Lewis has the talent and skill that Senna had,the raw talent and car control.

Agreed. He may one day develop into the talent he currently believes he is...but from what we have seen thusfar...he is not even close to being Senna or Michael. With that said, he is certainly not the worst driver in F1..I would put him mid pack personally. But, when you factor in the other craziness...I would hire many other drivers over him if it were my money to spend.

As far as this weekend's drive goes, any driver out there can go five blistering laps, destroy his tires and blame them for the spins...but the great drivers alter their driving style to take the limits of the car/tires into account. Saying after the race that you were really fast...but your driving style destroyed the tires (while your team mate had no such difficulty)....is the same thing as saying the car was good but you didn't drive it properly. That is as plain as day to anyone who has ever been on that side of the fence. When Massa completely hosed it in Silverstone...it was all because he sucks as a driver and he made no excuses what so ever for it....but when Hamilton has the exact same drive it was his skill level that brought the car home? Pfft. Had any one of his multiple offs gone just a little bit wrong he would have been done just like Massa at Silverstone.

The only reason this is a story at all is because Hamilton is the self appointed god of rain....which it is quite apparent now is not true. Silverstone, as I recall and feel free to correct me if I have it wrong, caught Ferrari on a dry setup gamble while McLaren was setup to handle rain. Again, from aging memory, didn't the track dry towards the end and Ferrari take the fastest lap of the day? So, I think the difference on that day was a bad decision by Ferrari and a good one by McLaren. This weeks race, all the teams were setup for dry...and I think this is a far better showing of who actually handles rain better in comparable setups.

It was highly improbable that the Mclarens would beat the bawns or Red Bulls. They finished next best, on a day lewis admitted he drove one of his worst races. He had an off day and still got the car as high as was reasonably possible(barring beating Heiki).

Yes, I think he was desperately trying to make up for the car's defecit, and as you say,he was doing so! But there was the water you mentioned and then he lost his tyres.At least he tried and didnt coast around in the middle of the pack. If he had hauled it up to 4th and kept it there, it would have been quite a fete, as it was, respectable result

Yes, I think he was desperately trying to make up for the car's defecit, and as you say,he was doing so! But there was the water you mentioned and then he lost his tyres.At least he tried and didnt coast around in the middle of the pack. Well we'll have more bits for Bahrain so hopfully we'll see an improvment.

I think we can push for a podium were not far off now.

Hi Bud... Just sharing my opinion - its really crazy the way some of you guys is going on. posting the same stuff over and over and over and over and ....................... !!!! if we had a "we love hammy" thread then guys like me and other that dislikes him more than I do wont bother to go there coz there will only be good things said about him, which means there will be less arguments. The true stuff we can discuss in another thread. does that make good economic sense to you.?

Whitmarsh: Some people are out to get us

Martin Whitmarsh has denied that Lewis Hamilton's mechanics are furious with the Brit, saying the reports are nothing more than a campaign designed to "get us."

On Sunday, the Daily Mail claimed that the McLaren mechanics were furious with Hamilton, blaming him for the sacking of sporting director Dave Ryan in the wake of the liargate scandal. Furthermore, they were also unhappy about rumours suggesting that the Brit was looking to leave the team.

"They have all known Davey for many, many years and are upset he became the fall guy," a McLaren team insider told the newspaper.

"Then there was the talk of Lewis threatening to quit the team. That did not go down well because we feel he should have shown more support after the work we've done for him. The guys put all the hours in and don't get anywhere near the rewards he does."

Whitmarsh, though, has refuted the report, saying he believes it's just a campaign aimed at unsettling those at Woking.

"Lewis has come to me at the last two grands prix and told me he loves the team and this is where he wants to be," the McLaren team boss told The Daily Mirror. "He's asked me what he can do to help.

"This talk of him being disliked by his mechanics over what happened to Davey is just rubbish. The reality is that there is an agenda here: some people are out to get us.

"But we have to accept things are going to be tough for a while and just get on with it.

"Champions have to be hard as nails, but Lewis is different because he also has this humanity and that gets misunderstood sometimes."

Think Martin is correct does seam there is somthing going on with this crap in the papers

I know you dislike hamilton but if you disagree with somthing i say you just call me crazy and go on about how stupid i am to think what i'm thinking.
