How does "Whitmarsh losing his marbles" have anything to do with the Conspiracy thread? Anything related to McLaren belongs in the 'Conspiracy' thread now?
#305326
I agree with hammer and I want to add that most of the fans of any sport are whining because of something they don't like about their team. critisizing is logical, we can't accept everything that happens in a dogma way, Every fan has a different view and opinion and wants to share it, thats what forums are for... Prejudging with bias something as a ''conspiracy theory'' or attacking someone because we think his comment is stupid, is imo contrary to the freedom of speech.

Every bloody race, its becoming unbearable and I'm not talking about McLaren Whitmarsh but this bloody forum!!
You Lewis fans are bloody unbelievable you really are a bunch of <- SNIP - >! This is a sport, sometimes you just have to f***ing accept another team does a better job than you. What right does McLaren have to be 6 tenths faster than Ferrari? Answer that? the guys are f***ing trying but whether their best is enough to beat the other teams is the bloody point of competition! Do you guys realise this is a sport you measure yourself against others, the fact there is a 1st 2nd 3rd etc etc is the means of measurement. Everyone doesn't f***ing come in fist place do they!??

f***ing over it! and this forum!!! :censored:

+1  Well said Bud.

This bashing of Whitmarsh and McLaren at every turn is truly pathetic, especially when it comes from those that claim to support McLaren - clearly they are fairweather supporters and as such are totally unrespectable and are not fans of McLaren. A true fan sticks by their team come rain or shine. A true fan does not put the boot in and throw their toys out the pram when things don't go their way.

I find myself asking where are the Schuamcher fans bitching about Mercedes? Where are the Webber fans bitching about Vettel? Where are the Massa fans bitching about Alonso and Ferrari? Where are the Raikkonen fans bitching about Lotus not yielding him a win yet? Where are the Button fans bitching about Mclaren seeing as he has had the worse luck of late?

:censored: joke!

Tell you what if you think you can do better than Whitmarsh, write to McLaren with your CV and apply for his job. All the cash in MrE's wallets says you'd be totally lost. That's a hell of a lot of cash the LL's owe me now!

EDIT: Maybe this thread could be merged with the conspiracy that isn't a conspiracy thread?

Hypocrisy to the max. You're the guy who was once a big Schumacher fan (definitely during the dominant years) and now a Vettel fan (well it's been Vettel the past 2 years now hasn't it?), you're not even a fan of the sport but just a weed in the wind, going wherever the winner goes. Your idea of a good time in this forum is basically launching into arguments with various members and trying your best to flare up arguments in order to liven up your pathetic little life, and I bet I'm pretty close to the mark here. And here you are, with the cheek to talk about other supporters being genuine or not. Who gives a damn what you have to say anyway?

And I see you're the one who instigated this thread be merged with this conspiracy thread? I see one of the mods followed your twisted logic, and I'm still needing to know why. The thread I created was plainly to discuss the current inefficiency of both the team and the manager, and why not....they are a big name team which has come under heavy scrutiny not just in this forum, but the general media for all their high profile mistakes this season? Again, WHAT does this have to do with the conspiracy thread?
#305328
It was merged because essentially they're both about he same thing. If the actions of Whitmarsh/ Mclaren are harming Lewis or favouring Button.

Personally I think it's a case of praising Hamilton when he does well but blaming the team when he does poorly; i.e. your only seeing the negatives and getting a biased opinion.
#305336
Not at all. A top team which can't assist one of their drivers to get a setup which gets him into Q3 when the other car is capable of a top 3 position is another very interesting note to discuss. You could argue about Massa and Ferrari....but that's Massa. I know I don't often cut Button much slack but I rate him way higher than Massa. And both these points have nothing to do with Hamilton! :D

I have to say I disagree. Being able to tell people they're f'n morons is the very essence of freedom of speech. No one is preventing anyone from blathering nonsense - just ridiculing them for doing so. And anyway, freedom of speech doesn't apply to a privately owned forum, which is why there are mods.

In case you < :nono: EDITED FOR CONTENT :nono: > haven't heard F1 today is popular because of Hamilton

:bs: It was popular before he was in F1 and will be popular after he's left.

Everyone wants to know about and speak about Hamilton

Speak for yourself mate. Everyone wants to speak about F1.

Why? Because he is a winner

Did you say wienner?

Rookie beats the reigning 2x WC in the same car - some see genius some see something they can never be

Some see Uncle Ron.

Btw where are all Button fans?

They're are plenty Button fans here. Bud is one of them but the LL's have pissed him off so much it looks like one of the longest serving members still active on here is nealy becoming inactive (can't say I blame him). That tells me all I need to know about this farce.
#305367
Right, Hammer, you want to know why I merged the thread? It was nothing to do with Andrew's comments. I made an independent decision because the thread is basically rehashing old ground that had been discussed in here. You may not have intended that to be the case but it was going that way, we don't need half a dozen threads discussing the same thing, thanks1

It's not just about setup though is it? Button's (reportedly) very specific about his setup. Maybe the car just wouldn't respond to the way he likes and it couldn't be fixed with setup changes. Although his form has been kinda poor since Australia, and in his time at McLaren he's generally had problems with qualifying.

In Barcelona for example, McLaren gave Lewis a very good strategy to recover from the qualifying disqualification.

I suppose what makes it harder, is that although F1 is very suited to statistics, not that many seem to be collected compared to say football. Where could we get the ratio of good stops to mistaken ones for example?

PartsaS, it's unbelievable that you literally had to write that because it's, well, common sense...but apparently not. Fans of a team can, flog their team or favourite driver at their will when things don't go well...equally cheering from the mountain tops when the team/driver succeeds. It's part of the passion we bring to sport. I for one remain very critical of McLaren, mostly because the stuff they are doing should be coming from Marussia or some new team who is still feeling their way as newbies in the sport, not a brand with the racing heritage of a McLaren with all of its constructors and drivers championships. I just expect more from them...and apparently other McLaren fans do too. Onward and upward! :)

I'm just saying...

(generally speaking and off- topic)
I am not talking about ''laws'' private or not, but unwriten ethics of civilized societies; your freedom ends where another person's freedom begins, arguing is always acceptable, but ridiculing them becouse of their opinion is like telling them their oppinion is not welcome, (again imo :) )

I agree with both of the above posts. You can't just rage against Lewis fans and mclaren fans who are not happy with the current situation and then do the very thing you accuse them of, which is post with bias pretending nothing is wrong at mclaren. Mistakes happen but not at every race of the season, that is just not good enough.
To the poster who said lewis was not as fast as Vettel and alonso....maybe not all race, but he was for some of it and he was right there at the end. if he hadn't been jumped both times in the pits he'd have stayed in third.
Even with Jensen out of the picture mclaren seem unable to provide a strategy that adapts throughout a race even for one driver.
I'm just saying...
