Hey ladies and gents! Long time no talk to. My bad, of course.

Well, a new season is upon us, and
here we go again....
It seems that the "Lewis is just a guy with quick reflexes and good car control, but not a thinker,"' brigade is at it again (which is pure horse manure, if you get my drift.)
I think what is going on is that some elements in the media, or from other teams, or a combination of the two -- that is, media who for personal and/or
other reasons, don't want to see Lewis succeed, are trying early to start the distraction game. To try to get into his head, make him answer ever more ridiculous questions, get frustrated, and possibly, not perform up to his greatest potential.
And thereby, the door is opened for their favored team, or driver, to be able to take advantage of the situation.
I wrote about this a couple of years ago, elsewhere, comparing this sort of stuff to what went on/goes on in American sports, especially at the QB position in football (but there's a long history across all major U.S. sports). The comparison is, that whether over here or over there, some seem comfortable subtly implying that non-white athletes (and especially black athletes), are a little closer to beast, than a "normal human" is. Thus, they can do all the physical stuff, run, jump, throw -- but they fall down on the intellectual side, i.e., they can't think beyond the most rudimentary levels. And it is on that basis, that they can be taken advantage of on the field of competition.
What's the evidence these people have, that would suggest that LH is one of the "less sharp" intellects on the grid? Why is it starting now, again?
I think it's because they fear him. As I said once, I think the most frightening prospect for other contending teams, is the notion of Lewis Hamilton in a truly fast race car.... And it looks like he's got one this year!

And I think they also fear him in another way. Because every time a Lewis, or a Russell Wilson, or a Jackie Robinson, explodes that "beast of burden" myth, it is also another blow to the racial/social caste systems (imposed on all of us) in the "West," (by the "West.") And particularly so, when the achievement is done in a high-profile, ultra-demanding arena like F1, where certain people are just not expected to be. And so it threatens, over the long run, the structured hierarchies that remain in place, to keep all of us "in our places." (This paragraph, I know, may be beyond the scope of this topic, but I just put it out there, because it's true).
As background, I was on a major U.K. motorsports site a little bit ago, and there was a blurb asking the question (paraphrasing): "Do the new rules favor Nico's more cerebral approach, when compared to LH's just get out there and drive fast approach?", or some such bull pucky as that. The blurb referred to an interview in the latest edition of one of the leading F1 magazines, in which some form of that question was apparently posed to Lewis.
My thoughts: Lewis, just stay calm, don't get flustered or frustrated, and maybe try to think of a smart/funny, but biting retort, so that any F1 "reporter," dumb enough to pursue that line of questioning with you won't try it again.
Something like, "Gee, do you think Jackie Robinson, or even Russell Wilson, had to face questions this tough?"
Peace and love, y'all, peace and love.
