Michael Schumacher has been reprimanded for his crash with Sergio Perez, while Lotus have been fined for unsafe pit release.

Source: Autosport

Michael Schumacher has been given a reprimand for his accident with Sergio Perez during the Singapore Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver clipped the back of Perez's Sauber when trying to pass the Mexican rookie on lap 28 of the race.

Although Perez could continue in the race, he was forced to come into the pits to replace a punctured tyre.

Schumacher said the accident, which forced him to retire, had been a misunderstanding with Perez, but the FIA stewards gave the German a reprimand for the incident.

"I think Michael was too optimistic with what he tried," said Perez. "It is a shame to have lost a place to Felipe (Massa) in the end, but the tyres were finished and I couldn't defend anymore."

The FIA has also fined Team Lotus 10,000 euros for the unsafe release of Heikki Kovalainen into the path of race leader Sebastian Vettel during his final pitstop.

Massa's a muppet who should never have been allowed anywhere near an F1 car, lol.

Driving a trolley is more his game -

"He's taken the frozen food corner to slow and wraps it into someone who actually wants to get their shopping done this decade", lol.

Definitely deserved that one!

What does the FIA do with money from these fines? Anyone know? Does it just end up in their coffers, or do they do something cool like donate it to charity? *snicker*

I can't beleive the way Massa brake checked hamilton into the corner, and then drifted to the right through the corner across hamilton's front wing. Rediculous!! This Massa guy keeps getting in hamiltons way, when is he going to get the message that when hamilton is behind, he needs to pull over and let him past, because he is obviously faster. I mean come on, its sheer luck that Massa was in front in the first place.

He didn't brake test anyone. Hamilton was just over ambitious in trying to pass Massa. It was a mistake by Hamilton, nothing more. These things happen.

Massa does not need to pull over for a faster car unless he is being lapped. It's a thing called racing, you may have heard of it.

I was being sarcastic. I think its funny that you would think it a real response, but unfortunately that's the way it seems a lot of people think regarding Hamilton on this forum.

I've been a Schumacher fan forever. You had the same blind loyalty to him back when he was in his prime. Nobody's perfect. I think his reprimand today was mildly justified. You run into someone from behind, expect to get critisized. Same goes for Hamilton who seems to keep running into people this year.

Brundle just compared Hamilton to Mansell! I never thought I'd say it but I feel sorry for Hamilton.

A bit harsh :D

Considering that NM is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, he might as well have called LH a bimbo.

Do what Hamilton did in this race, but on a road, the worst thing that will happen to you would be: you and the driver in front of you being happy guests of a morgue. F1 is (must be) an example for everything that auto industry and drivers conduit stands for: safety, reliability and not to forget "life first". Hamilton's actions are in the reckless driving zone. To be honest I wouldn't want a person like Hamilton overpass me on an ordinary street even if I'm in a slower car.

On the 'incidents', I think it should be rememebered that he rules state drivers will be punished for causing an 'avoidable accident', NOT for causing an accident that inconveniences another driver. Now there were three racing incidents at least in that race. Rosberg got no penalty , Schumacher a reprimand an lewis a penalty. All for the same thing. Non of those three drivers wanted those collisions, they were not deliberate, they were racing incidents, non should have received penalties. Why three different decisions from the stewards?
Massa's behaviour to Lewis afterwards was uncalled for.

After seeing that video, I gotta say that Massa is a little ignorant fool. I used to root for him, but this year he's been mediocre, and whiny. He ran away fast, though, I think he knows Lewis is a black belt.
