Saw crouching tiger hidden dragon (again, been waiting for ages for it to be on) last night.

Was great

And this time they diddn't cut the ending

I really enjoy "Kung Fu Hustle" (aswell as CTHD) but the voice over's are no longer original yet I still watch it everytime it comes on.

Who cut the ending last time and why? I can't stand it when tv channels alter movies because they're inappropriate for the time they've put them on. I remember watching Die Hard on ITV and having to listen to the famous "Yippee ki-ay, motherf...r! " line be dubbed with something less offensive.

Last time it was on more4 as well, (sight in between the massive gap film and channel 4 showed the overrated house of flying daggers, when will people learn fancy effects don't make good films).

Anyway back to topic: It wasn't really a "cut", during the ending (which really is a massive part of the film, and a particularly scenic and touching one in a scenic and touching film) they put that crappy split screen thing telling me what came next complete with voiceover.

Thats actually an ongoing gripe with channel 4, but I'll talk about that another time.

I'm still not sure whether crouching tiger or fearless (has jet lee before he sold out) is my favourite martial arts film.

Ah, the dreaded split screen and voice over. They must have mountains of complaints about that and yet they still refuse to let the movie finish before they advertise what's on next :banghead:

I've not seen a lot of martial arts films but I loved Crouching Tiger, might have to check out Fearless.

Fearless is an excellent film, it definitely has "soul" but its not really in the same mould as crouching tiger - but having said that it definitely has those touching quiet moments.

Public Enemies, bit of a pointless film I thought.

i saw the hurtlocker recently, seamed like a good film at first but then it ruined it self by being completely stupid with one scene.

Spoiler..

There's a scene these 3 bomb disposal us soldiers come across some SAS soldiers in the desert, they get attacked by a sniper 2 SAS blokes hide others get shot and one gets a sniper rifle out tried to shoot the enemy sniper misses then gets shot himself, fortunately the US soldiers then grab the sniper rifle and save the day.

Haha I just saw that yesterday and I agree. The story is all over the place, some parts drag on for too long, and I think they could've picked a better girl to play Dillinger's gf. All in all, I was truly disappointed.

I just wish it wasn't a giant homoerotic fantasy. I know real Spartans wore armor rather than just a tight leather bikini bottom, so the only real excuse to have them all running around nearly naked was to see all their rippling muscles, which I could have done without.

Here's what an actual Spartan looks like:

I'd have been happier with that. Entertaining film, but a bit too much bare man flesh for my tastes.

But it was HOT :cloud9::cloud9:
I had to do a report on Sparta last year and I was quite disappointed to find out what their real uniforms looked like. (Although I did have a feeling.) :hehe:
