Well well well! the racial profiling resurfaces

We had discounted the nationality of the drivers as its totally irrelevant here, but it continues to be an issue for some :yikes:

Meanwhile, the British driver who wins his only title by one point on the final corner of the final race with a mediocre team mate is hailed as some supreme racing god and is the highest paid driver on the grid.... (Yes I did just go there too... :yikes::yikes: And on a British dominated forum as well! And I did go there as well!!! )

I agree, with so many percentages.

But let's be honest here, RBR isn't an Austrian team but hey-ho Grosjean isn't French either.

May I remind everyone that Button is British. :hehe:

Its funny hjow so many so called F1 fans, especially the recent ones just do not understand the basic tenet of what makes F1 legendary - the nature of the competition

Its the years when a driver wins by 1 point or half a point that are most memorable, thats what causes the interest and excitement. Not when a driver wins with 10 races to go in a car 2 minutes faster

Its hard to understand without years of experience and seems counter intuitive - a bit like the fact that those less likely to be able to afford interest payments are always charged higher than those who can afford it

Adult humans eh, what a bunch. Computers and children are much more straightforward

Maybe you'd get more satisfaction from watching an Australian sport then.....?

No don't get me wrong I prefer the final race showdowns as much as you, and that 2008 was a fantastic race, but Lewis only just scraped his WDC, though hard work yes, but is it any more or less valued than the ones Seb's got in RB? I think not.

No because Aussie sports fans are some of the most retarded people I've ever known, hence I post on a civilised British forum. (That uses an American spellchecker.... grrrrr.... )

If ever you get a chance to read the messages dumb fans post on foxsports.com.au, you'd see what I mean. Absolute retardation to a mega degree....

Oh and the fall out on Facebook after Webber was told to "maintain the gap" a couple of years back... Oh the amount of expletives and references of one sticking one's member up one's rear diffuser... My hat!!! :yikes:

And has anyone ever seen this ridiculous sport called AFL (Aussie Rules football) invented and only played in Australia. 100,000 people often turn up to matches - yet is there any wonder why no other country has adopted this sport? Because it's stupid!!!

And then you'll have the derelict commentators shouting things like "OH MY GAWD! THAT'S THE BEST "MARK" IN THE WOOOOORLD!" Yeah the world only consisting of Australians who play the sport! :irked:

I feel like I'm trapped amongst a nation of inbred convicts... Oh wait....

No I'd much rather watch a sport with such history and that is viewed as the pinnacle of motorsport, only I'll avoid any British or Australian press. And I won't subscribe to the common views of the British dominated media and fan base, and will form a neutral opinion on the drivers in the sport both past and present.

Hence - I'll say Niki Lauda is the greatest driver to have graced the sport, yet I'm pretty sure I'm the only one to hold this viewpoint. And I still tout Alonso as probably the best driver on the grid, although after this year and Alonso's performances of late, I'm pretty sure Vettel is now...

Maybe you'd get more satisfaction from watching an Australian sport then.....?

;)

Lol - I've been typing my comment for about 10 mins now, and then saw this posted. As you can see, I went there too...

And you're right, just as Vettel's win in 2010 and Raikkonen in 2007 should be held in less esteem either.

But the issue is the amount of commendation Hamilton receives compared to Vettel. Naturally a driver who has won 4 world championships should be receiving most of the praise... But instead, it's his British designer, who is viewed as some god (and he's very good) yet what this people fail to account for is that Newey:

a) Has been in Formula One for a very very long time - 1988 in fact. That's 25 years... And he has won ("only") 10 Constructors championships during that time. If he was such a supreme deity he would have won 20-odd to be deserving the praise he has been getting for Vettel's run of form. What about the various flops he designed? But noooo - the media and the fanbase have to try to elevate Newey and give him most of the praise compared to Vettel because whoa and behold! A BRITISH person designed the best car!
b) I can't remember my second point - and maybe amalgamated it into my first point.... :hehe:

Does anyone know who Jörg Zander is? No? Do a quick Google search and you will find out that HE designed Brawn's 2009 championship winning car.

But why haven't we heard of him? Does he being GERMAN and not BRITISH have anything to do with it?? Meanwhile, Ross Brawn and Jenson Button are given all the accolades for it. But switch the circumstances around to Red Bull where a British guy is designing the car, HE gets all the accolades for it...

Ok now I've got to prepare for the slew of hate, it is my opinion, that, an opinion that very few share on here. Please don't ban me oh great mods. That Hamilton was just a flash in the pan and isn't WDC material. IN MY OPINION. Please don't hurt me. Oh god RC knows my real name *Runs* :hehe:

I agree too, Massa would've made a much more worthy Champ. They both did kick Raikkonen's ar$e that year anyway. Who also shouldn't be a Champ. :hehe:

How nice of you to speak on behalf of everyone else on this forum!

The nationality of someone means no more to me than whether a person is short or tall. So if I commented about a person and said that he was short - does that mean I'm being derogatory or prejudiced against short people?

Man - I have the same issue at work as well. I work for a company that places disabled people into jobs, along with able-bodied people.

Yet the other day, I got into trouble by using the phrase "disabled person" and that the correct phrase is "a person with a disability." Because otherwise, I sound like I'm focusing on their disability or branding the person as such or some mumbo jumbo that I can't be stuffed about.

Good grief... it's political correctness like this that drives me completely bananas... I just wish that I was the only person on the planet....

Lewis as a rookie beat the reigning 2x WDC in the same car, he also beat a second reigning WDC in the same car
Those are his credentials to greatness

Sebs can win in a car with a 2 sec advantage
Those are his credentials to greatness

Let's compare these credentials to those of the greatest driver ever Senna :whip:

Let me guess, your politics are to the right? And you worship that Pauline woman who was in Aussi politics sometime ago

Everyone has political leanings, but only some make sure we all know what they are and berate us and everyone else for not being like them.

Mate, I am betting there are many who wish you were also the only person on the planet - mars
Why don't you take over the planet and make everyone like you, maybe make them all wear uniforms and be a certain height and a certain look you find attractive

I really hope that you are just a kid, because if you are older than 18 I despair for the planet

Actually because I'm a Jehovah's Witness, I am politically neutral and I do not vote in elections even though it is compulsory to do so in Australia. I'm currently in the middle of contesting my voting fine from the most recent election.
