I know someone who lives in Shaghai. I'll ring him! Ah. middle of night there!!

Formula One is more important than sleep. :P

I kid. But every site was reporting wet weather last year and it was bone dry for the whole race, so I wouldn't trust the weather sites too much.

At least if it stays dry the race probably won't be as boring!

i find wet races more entertaining that dry one's....

as long as it doesn't get stopped like the last one :hehe:

I meant in comparison to last years race, of course rain is always welcome! :D

I think even without rain the race will be interesting. There's 4/5 things to look at.....

1. How good will Lewis be able to do. He has done pretty good starting from much further behind, and now he's on a heavy-ish load, has KERS + a few improvements, so he could make a good leap before turn 1... definitely the car to watch. If he wins, i will tattoo his name on my forehead :D i'm joking! (just in case).

2. How reliable will the Red Bulls be. Both their drivers are good, and their pace has been amazing... if the Brawns get stuck behind Lewis or Alonso... who knows, maybe the maiden.

3. Brawn. Will they be able to chill and develop their own rythm... if they do, then nothing can be done. They are heavy.

4. The super soft tyres... maybe a lottery there. Except for Brawn, all they have to do is stay out of trouble.

5. Toyota... can't really overlook them.

6. Rain?! oh boy...

The hell with waiting til 8am tomorrow... I'll stay up for this one.

What time is the race taking place there? As you can see the link above does detail for every couples of hours so......

EDIT-

BBC weather going for Heavy rain......

Looking at that, the race would take place in the transition period between light and moderate rain. So that probably wouldn't be enough to stop the race like it did in Malaysia.

A bit of light rain was enough to make the '06 and '07 races very memorable!

I think the race might just miss the rain tomorrow. According to a 3 hourly forecast in Shanghai they expect showers around 5pm local time. With the race at 3pm they will probably just miss it, at most maybe have a Spa style last few laps of rain (that would be epic)

Righteo some weather boffins are telling me at 2pm local time there till be a 30% chance of rain with around
0.25 mm water falling, this increases by 5pm to 60% (3.56 mm of rain) so we'll see.
