We don't know what Mercedes or McLaren have up their sleeve for 2013; maybe Ross Brawn is developing a monster car; McLaren are usually there or thereabouts every season in car performance terms, everything is speculation; we won't know where the teams stand compared to each other until Australia 2013. It's silly to be claiming this, that or the other. We don't even know how Hamilton will stack up against Rosberg in the Mercedes; both are GP2 champions in successive years. Hamilton is a F1 world champion but Rosberg hasn't had the opportunity to drive a title winning car; next season will be very interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing Hamilton Vs Rosberg, assuming the noises coming out of Brackley about equal treatment is true.

They didn't back a 7X WDC over Rosberg, I doubt they'd find much reason to give Hamilton priority then.

They've said they won't, and I hope they don't. I'm sure Hamilton feels likewise. He's never asked for priority, only ever parity. He's gone to Mercedes for a new challenge, he wants to do this and without that shadow that hangs over Schumacher and Alonso ( no disrespect to them, but they both were favoured from the beginning of the season)
At the end of the season if Rosberg or Hamilton are in with a shout at the title(I'm not talking about 2013) and the other is to all intents and purposes out of the equation, well that's different; then I'd expect the one to help the other.

You clearly have me wrong Bud :( but no worries.

If true, this is very good news for Tifosi. The F2012 was clearly the 2nd best car on the track in Korea, and, given that Felipe was visibly faster than Nando at times, this might also help explain his additional speed. Nando car will have this new exhaust this fitted to his car for India which could make for a very interesting there - good for all F1 spectators.

Oct.18 (GMM) Ferrari raced an all-new Red Bull-style exhaust on only Felipe Massa’s car in Korea last weekend, according to the Spanish newspaper 20 Minutos.

The news would explain the Brazilian driver’s better pace than teammate Fernando Alonso in the sister F2012, and also the Spaniard’s confidence that he is still in the running to beat Sebastian Vettel to the title despite a new 6-point championship deficit and Red Bull’s recent dominance.

Indeed, 20 Minutos claims Alonso will be running the Massa-specification on his own red car next weekend in India.

The report also said Ferrari is working hard in former F1 team Toyota’s state of the art Cologne wind tunnel on a so-called ‘double DRS’ straightline speed-boosting system.

“Hopefully we make a little bit of a step in terms of performance and then we can fight for bigger things,” Alonso, having finished third behind both Red Bulls, said before leaving Korea last Sunday.

Team boss Stefano Domenicali added: “It is clear that we must make a step forward in performance to respond to the one made by Red Bull. We are well aware of that and we are working day and night to succeed.”

You're saying Ferrari gave Massa superior equipment? :P

Felipe generally gets new pieces first, if you recall he got the Valencia front wing first and also the Mugello tested exhaust first as well :)

I cant believe there are some still weeping about a McLaren conspiracy to nobble Lewis. Afterall on this very forum it was confirmed that rather than an organised conspiracy it was a case of gross incompetence and disastrous management and a shocking lack of awareness of strategy or game theory.

Whats so funny is that those who were adamant that there was no problem at McLaren, and that every top team has the same ups and downs and that 'it was just bad luck' are now forced into silence by the fact that one of the best drivers of his generation has chosen to go to a team with much less success to to escape the clutches of this team 'with nothing wrong with it'

however they are still brave enough to continue sniping at 'conspiracy theorists' and consoling themselves with the though that Lewis fans will point to the same inconsistencies at his next team

Dream on <EDITED WB: fellow forum members>, this year in the best car button has managed 2 wins, Nico in a much worse car has managed 1 win. next year Merc will have something it hasnt had previously, an assembeled team of top top guys and a top top driver. McLaren will have the same team of losers managing things and 2 mid grid drivers.

Why not wait till next season before concluding that the Merc team can exhibit even a 20th of the idoiocy weve seen from Mclaren. And if Nico beats Lewis a few times or even overall/ thats not gonna be because the team boss wants to jump his bones

lol agree, Button and Whitmarsh are a liability imo. What a bunch of clowns they all are at McLaren these days. Underperformance and emotional decision making is the order of the day with that lot. Sad.
