There's no point in taking risks if you don't need to is there? Sure it's not too entertaining for us armchair "experts" but it makes sense from the driver and team's point of view.

18 places in Monaco is no feat to be taken lightly.

You're right about Suzuka 2005, it was an all guns blazing from Kimi and Alonso as the WDC was done with. A top 5 classic in modern F1.

Both were great comebacks... i liked the Suzuka one because it was more exciting to watch, but the Monaco rally was a very amazing feat.

If we're talking about making it through the pack for races Button in Canada wins, no?

Or even his championship winning (and champions :hehe:) drive in Brazil 2009?

Guess I look like a Jenson fan now, to keep up appearances Alonso in Australia 2010 was pretty good.

Button's win was kinda surreal! i'm sure he was driving like crazy and when they told him his positions he was prob like... really? ?
That was a great race...

Any idiot can drive it like it's stolen all the time. The maturity comes in when you ignore this instinct and concentrate on getting a good haul of points without taking stupid risks.

LH Victories passing for the lead 7
FA ...................................1
SV....................................0

Ayrton Senna ......................9

:hehe:

Interestingly, only one of those 4 drivers has gained more than 15 places in a race. Fernando who gained 18 places in a single race.

And?

Are people here really implying that Hamilton, Alonso, and Vettel are not at basically the same level of proficiency?

Wow...fanboys can be pretty blind. :banghead:

Run on arguments are like run on sentences, someone's got to put a period on them. So let's end the back and forth shall we? Any continuation of it is pointless, other than trying to get the thread locked.

...and could draw other consequences :whip:

On the contrary he has a big enough lead he can take a few risks.

Or he lacks the required skills.

LOL so that's what you get from the numbers you posted?? LOL
I could waste some bytes explaining stuff, someting along the lines of... how do you know the best car was not the one doing the pass? but why bother, I'd look like a hater ;)

So... sure, Senna-like :)

Because I'm smart enough to assess the situation. 8-)
