Lewis mystified by his lack of pace. He thanks the team for their hard work and placed the blame squarely on his own shoulders, as he usually does. He takes credit when he extracts the max from the car but is always first to put his hand up if he feels the fault is with him.......even when it really isn't entirely the whole picture.

That guy is not too bright is he. Questioning Hamilton not straightening his car at the hairpin before the straights, I saw him do this multiple times...and most of the time he had another car right behind him so straightening the car out at the hairpin is basically an open invitation to lose another place!

he has clearly missed the part where the Merc is exceptionally poor on traction from low speed, as we hAve seen in the last few races. I reckon this is a fallout of improving the abysmally rear tyre wear said to be part of the cars DNA

What's the fricken point of going deep in the corner before straightening when your lesser traction means you hand over a place whilst elegantly covering more distance?

These guys cannot be serious analysts, more like reactionaries, saying things for effect

Clearly coco does belong to Lewis not Nicholas. Here he is on his first day at the office

And here he is waking up in the morning with Roscoe.

His brother, I thought. Coco might belong to his brother, but he's Lewis' dog.
I think I spelt his name wrong, it's Nicolas.

I've seen him make twice as many mistakes in the rare times he's been under pressure.

That's something that has always plaged him, back when he was teammates with Di Resta in the lower Formulee, he would often even win by miles or make a mistake under pressure. Not getting enough practice at being under pressure in his F1 career, which may one day hurt him.

I wanted to respond to this here an not soil the Vettel thread by bringing Hamilton's name in it.

But I remember moments like the 2011 British GP, where Hamilton's tires had gone out and Massa was up his ass threatening to pass for a long time, and the resolve on Hamilton's part, that he was not going to lose that position was... well magical. Like Gandalf announcing YOU SHALL NOT PASS! It's what racing is about for me and I just don't have that same feeling about Vettel's abilities even though the media, the marketing machine and his fans can't say enough about how much magic they see.

Oh well, to each his own.

To be fair, we almost don't see Vettel race enough to make these assumptions, the amount of TV coverage RB get must be hurting the PR people, their always far too far ahead to be filmed. :hehe:

I know and TV profits are split on the amount of time your car is actually on screen!

Which is exactly why I smile every time a Williams is on screen. Then it saddens me to realise it's being lapped.

Further to comments in another thread suggesting Hamilton compared himself to senna.........
Hamilton, respects Senna, admires him, thinks he's the best ever( with a mention to Gilles Villeneuve) I concur with him. And Lewis' skill set means that's the way he drives. It doesn't mean he's comparing himself directly with him. He looks nostalgically to that era where his skills would have flourished rather than this technical and forgiving era. Anyway, for a really good read about Lewis, from Lewis' mouth, take a look at this. It's a long article going from his look back at senna to his views on the current top drivers. He also mentions again that person who was out to do him harm and so affecting his driving a couple of years ago. He doesn't name names but I know who I think it is. Anyway, enough from me take a read.

Lewis:

"‘Put Sebastian with Fernando Alonso and the team would be in trouble straight away, the chemistry would just...’ He whistles.
But this is an older Hamilton — mature, in control. ‘You know, I even think I could drive with Sebastian,’ he muses. ‘I just wouldn’t turn the engine down.’

BTW who do you think that "energy sapping" person is RC? I don't think anyone would know but Lewis himself, since he mentioned it was a person in his personal life. So none of the guys in the team, not even his pesky ex-teammate could be it.

"I wouldn't turn the engine down" , LOL , yeah I loved that bit!

I'm not sure the person is from his personal life. I can't think of anyone in his personal life, close enough to him to be able to want to do him harm and or upset him.

Maybe it wasn't "intentional"? I'm thinking along the line of Ms. Nicole,
who seems to be pretty "high maintenance" and "needy"!!
Do I remember hearing how he would fly "across the world" just to spend
time with her? Sounded sweet and romantic; but, just as exhausting (if
pictures of them partying are anything to go by), if you need to keep your
mind 1000% sharp behind the wheel at a cajillion km/h!!

She undoubtably caused Lewis anguish, I don't think intentionally though, but because of his feelings for her. The way he speaks of this person it sounds like intent to hurt and do damage was there.
