Churchill what a legend but by god did his speeches go on forever.

That Churchill quote would be relevant if they were mediocre drivers, but there are successful prodigies that do work hard and succeed because if the talent and determination to work harder than the rest. So I can't see how it's anything but complementary to both.

Wasn't meant to be derogatory! Just that they need to walk the talk, win or lose!!

.... I've never perceived Lewis as a sore loser or more importantly a sore winner.

Oh dont get me wrong. He whines and mopes. But sore looser is definitely not something I ever see.

I would compare it to my own mid-teen-grunge-depressive-everything-is-pointless phase....

That was probably down to those The Cure albums you bought

And Lewis is. It's what, Five years since he won a championship? I don't see any signs of him packing in. Sure he gets downbeat and disappointed but one of his hash tags is nevergiveup. I can't see how you can compare him to Vettel at all, to me they're very different.

If Hamilton was in the same position as Vettel, it would be just as annoying.

That depends on why you're annoyed at Vettel. I've said why I am in the Vettel thread.

But coming back to Hamilton, I see no evidence that he's going to be given an easy ride in Merc, he's going to have to fight if he wants to win. Good, so he should.

He is not. He is Lewis

He won his WDC in the second best car, by 1 point, he missed out in his rookie year, in the best car but up against the 2x reigning WDC

Seb wins by 100 points from a nobbled teammate in a car that was at times 2 seconds per lap quicker in race trim

Lauda won by 1/2 a point against the WDC

Prost won by 1 point against the best driver ever

Senna won by 1 point against the other top driver in the same car

Can you spot the odd man out in these tales of greatness and F1 legend?

I think what Red Bull is trying to make us understand is that Vettel in those cars and against those drivers would have wrapped up the season with three or four races to go as well.
