I really like KERS. Given most of other parts of the regulations are still pretty constrained, it's one of very few things which hold up Formula One's claim to be the most technically advanced category in motorsport. I think what really needs to happen is for the car's minimum weight to be moved up to at least 655 kg next season, so as not to discriminate against taller and/or heavier drivers.

I should also have said I felt Hamilton came good today. I was expecting Kovalainen to do better, for he seemed to have found a much better car set-up with what I was a slightly challenging car on Friday and was generally faster throughout the weekend. Conversely, Hamilton seemed to be really struggling with the car and his driving was erratic. Perhaps that was partly because he was finding the limit of the car, too. Overall, though, the MP4-24 did has got a little better. Certainly before Jerez, the car was bordering on being declared unsafe, as the back end was so unstable a gust of wind could blow the car off the track, but that seems to have been tamed slightly; come race day Hamilton's car looked pretty balanced. Sadly, it's just not fast enough.

It was painful viewing from a McLaren perspective. Save whenever cars retire because of mechanical failures etc., I can't ever remember seeing so little of McLaren during a race - even in the mid-1990s. :crying:

The same could be said for Renault. I think Mclaren may have had better pace than them.

Indeed, the tyre difference caused alot of the excitement today. Hopefully they keep up this trend and we see teams all opting for different stratigies. It's what made today so special. The last lap run from Kubica was exciting. It may not have ended well though.

Seriosuly, it sickens me that they want to remove re-fueling next year. It's part of the sport and it causes so much excitement and overtaking. The FIA really don't know what they're doing.

Also, Bernie can shove his winner takes all scheme up his donkey. Today proved the drivers will go all out for wins. If anything, the thing we need to get rid of for more overtaking is the stewarts. The drivers really went for it today and overtaking is 100% improved, but after seeing what happened with Kubica and Vettel they'll start thinking twice.

As mentioned elsewhere, the stewards didn't impose a penalty on either driver for the collision.

What are you talking about? Vettel and Kubica's accident went un-punished by the stewards. Vettel got penalised for his antics after wards.

Not so

Following a post-race investigation, stewards decided to penalise the young German for 'causing a collision and forcing a driver off the track’. He had been racing in second, behind eventual race victor Jenson Button, with Kubica running a close third.

He was fined for contiuing to drive on. The 10 place penalty was for the collision.

Bloody websites have been mis-reporting it. Either way, Vettel was more in the wrong in the incident - that said, both of them were being reckless.

Yeah that is what I thought. I didn't wanna disagree with you guys cause I had just woken up, but i knew he got penalised for two things.
Bloody hell, it was a racing accident!

James Allen has proven to be one of the fastest sources of information in the Formula One world, actually. As for the decision, I'll wait for the FIA to publish details before making any more comments.

i kind of misses James...i think he brought a bit of excitment to the F1 world. Today seemed like waiting inline at DVLA for my license i i'm to be honest.....
