You make an interesting observation, using Kimi as a benchmark Hamilton would have contributed 40 points to his teammates 165, no wins, no podiums and would be languishing 8 places down from his teammate in the WDC race. Hardly worth a salary indeed.

Remember now 2009 Kimi! And in 2009 Kimi outscored all three of his teammates combined.

2009 Kimi was out-raced by Massa until the horrible injury. He was then up against Luca Badoer (who quite honestly some on this forum could have beaten) and a retiring Fisichella - hardly rocket science for a world champion really.

Ferrari Man, are you sure you're a Tifoso? ;)

Anyway, thank you for pointing that our to our friend overboost. Sometimes people with an overwhelming desire to simply spit some vitriol into an otherwise factual discussion, apparently lose the ability to reason.

Haha, I am but I try to be fair where possible. Of course I will be slightly biased towards Ferrari at times but isnt everyone towards their own driver/team?

What I would say for Hamilton fans is in 1984, Prost had a 10.5 point lead over Lauda after the British GP with 6 races to go which in those days was more than a race (9 points a win at the time), but Lauda still managed to win the title. If Rosberg DNF's at Silverstone and Lewis wins the gap is only 4 points and all to play for. You would rather be in Nico's position but i've seen bigger championship leads blown.

Yeah, don't leave Ferrari Man....your type (Tifosi + smarts) will be missed in this forum, sincerely.

...and by all means don't start playing the pool game, you may score some points and give me additional competition I don't need. :hehe:

Don't worry i'm not going anywhere :)

Pool game? Is this something you do every year to predict who Red Bull will throw in their Monaco pool? :hehe:

If this continues Merc are going to start scratching their heads as to why they recruited Hamilton and are paying him so much more than Rosberg.

You think a team dominating the way Merc is scratches their heads? Definetely not the marketing guys especially since Lewis is the biggest attraction in the grid. Neither his boss Toto who claims Lewis is faster or the chairman of Daimler who have known and backed Lewis instead of Nico for over a decade

It could even be the fact a Lewis beat Nico last year

Nah, only haters are scratching their chinless heads

Is Lewis winning the Lewis V Nico marketing battle?

I've still not seen you post a thing in the Nico Rosberg support thread.

I don't believe that there is anything wrong with going flat out; but, if trying too hard begins to take a tally,
then maybe the driver who can be most patient will end up with the title!

, Ben Anderson wrote:">Austrian GP: Lewis Hamilton qualifying spin not a car issue

...Mercedes boss Wolff confirmed there was no technical problem with Hamilton's car, but suggested his driver was unlucky to lose control of the car on a bump.

"We didn't see anything on the car," Wolff said, when asked by AUTOSPORT whether a technical problem had contributed to the spin.

"I think it was also bad luck. He was braking 10 metres later, he had a little bit more pressure on the brake pedal, and he hit a bump.

"All that contributed. He just lost the rear and the car spun."

Hamilton rejected suggestions he was maybe trying too hard in his efforts to grab pole...

...Nico Rosberg will start third after losing out to both Williams drivers in Q3.

The championship leader suggested he had perhaps compromised his qualifying set-up too far in pursuit of strong settings for Sunday's race.

"The track went in a different direction to what I expected so I had a lot of understeer in qualifying," Rosberg explained.

"But it wasn't the intention to go that far with it [sacrificing qualifying set-up]. It just turned out to be a lot of understeer and I had no tools to get rid of it."

Well I went over there to the Rosberg area and it is to late, the Russians and Putin seem to have annexed it and made quite a mess.

I don't think it is safe right now.

Is that what's happening to Kimi? He's just being patient, not overdoing in in qualifying, so maybe Alonso will have 6 or 7 consecutive DNFs and he can then become the number one driver in the team?

Two DNFs is the reason Lewis is behind Rosberg. Nothing more nothing less. He's got two DNF's as opposed to his team mate that's go zero. Does everyone understand that? Every other stat he's either tied or leading his teammate, but that doesn't suit the agenda so we have to hear everyone's crap. So because he's not winning every race he's weak, but it's okay for his team mate to lose four in a row but he's not weak.

It's been well documented that keeping his times squelched so his team mate's side of the garage doesn't analyze his data and tell the other guy how to beat him. Pretty embarrassing if you ask me that the other guy needs to rely on that to "find" speed on Saturday but none of the keyboard warriors here responded to that with any kid of logic.

So, FFS, can we end the circle jerk? If you've got logic and facts, let's discuss them, let's hear them, but jesus some of you guys like impossible and pointless to have a substantive discussion with. The "regular" Hamilton fans that post on this thread are the first ones to call him out when he makes a mistake. So I find certain users spending more time here than supporting their own drivers and teams and starting discussion there. If this topic interest you, then add to it and make factual reasons arguments and more often than not you'll find the Lewis Hamilton "fans" agreeing with you but let me tell you, those posts are few and far between. What we get lots and lots of are sour pusses that I'm sure grew up taking their ball and going home when the game wasn't going their way in the play ground. Mean while the Rosberg "support" thread has more attaboys from the Lewis fans than any self proclaimed fans here and would be pretty quiet otherwise. The Alonso or Kimi threads, jeez they need some KY cause they're so dry from lack of action. The Vettel thread.... where have they all gone. Grow up, it's just embarrassing. At least Geet is drunk 3/4 of the time when he comes posting his crap and it's pretty funny to read sometimes but the rest, well might as well stop here....

So please motivate yourself and create a thread where all you do is bad mouth the driver in Mercedes that keeps screwing up and a handful of you will be happy to bathe in whatever vitriol you'd like to throw around there, unfettered from the confines of facts. It would be easier for all that way and allow you your release without coming off as a pusillanimous keyboard warrior here. God dammit leave it out of of this thread... please. :hehe:

So this has been my swan song rant, enjoy.
