Serious? It happened infront of us I thought it was fair by Trulli to take it back seeing as the SC had been deployed!
Did all 4 wheels go off the track?

Then I think Hamilton will get 3rd

I'm not too sure if he will. I think what will be left on track will be left? I think RB should get demoted though? Dirty tactics in my book :irked:

Sakhir will be the next thing? The whole Diffuser thing? So what ever happens in this race will be wiped by next race, as Ferrari will be creating the new diffuser so thee backed? Plus Ferrari dominates Sakhir always.

Would you like to explain your claim?

Also, bud, whereabouts did Trulli rejoin the track in relation to Hamilton?

Ive watched the race again and Lewis appears to be in front of Trulli before the safety car. So trulli most have taken it back under the SC

Trulli came back on the track behind Hamilton and overtook him to regain 'his' place. There was nothing dirty about what rubens was doing just really really stupid at times, brilliant Gp though Hamilton drove well to get to third, im looking foreward to a thrilling season

What a race. Really. If we can have more of that please. So much happened so I'll say this driver by driver.

Brawn GP
What a way to end the race. It's one of those things that will look like a straight forward 1-2 lights to finish. But it was far from it. Brawn are clearly struggling a bit with pit stops, with Button losing a lot of time in the 2nd stop. But apart from that it was a perfect race. In fact I'd say Button had some pace in hand, but it is of course hard to say. I was actually amazed by Buttons start, I watched it again and he pulls out about 4 seconds half way through the lap. Barichello had a poor start, but its more than understandable. They've done so little work in testing that they've probably done about 2 practice starts in the car so far. But he made good pace afterwards.

Ferrari
Kimi seems to have race pace, but he seems to get it by pushing so hard lap by lap and thus makes mistakes and shoves it in the wall. He was doing a fine job till then with a chance at the podium, but he lost that all on his own account. Massa on the other hand had a beautiful start to the race, not great of the line but into turn 1 past kubica, then Rosberg and right behind Vettel. Dream start. But it went all wrong after the 2nd stop with something clearly wrong with the car. Gutted to say the least. He drove a brilliant race and surely would've at least passed Vettel, and perhaps even had a chance at the win. Sad cause unlike everyone, his mistake was caused by careless driving.

Williams.
We all seen Nakajima off, not much to say really. Rosberg, everything just went wrong. He did fine off the start, but then ended up with a wheel stuck. Somehow managed to stay on front of Kimi, which shows the pace he did have. He made some beautiful overtaking moves but switched to softs far too early. Really Rosberg did everything right, he just had a bad strategy, which is bad seeing as he really deserved to at least keep what would've been 3rd.

BMW
Heidfeld had damage to his car, so really you can't say much except better luck next week. Kubica, I really judged wrong here. He made the best of his strategy. He had a quiet enough race and then out of nowhere he started slamming in some reallly fast laps. Changed to the hard tyres, was catching Vettel and then we all seen what happened. To be fair he turned to early. Vettel had braked early to leave roomed, but Kubica just cut across. A silly incident to be frank.

Red Bull
You have to feel sorry for Webber. He fueled too heavy in Q3, and then got sandwhiched into turn 1. Ended up with too much damage and was last for every single lap. His bad luck just continues. Vettel on the other hand is really something. Amazing in Quali, kept with Button for a good while and then it all went horribly wrong. I think it was a racing incident but I still don't think Vettel could've done much more. He knew Kubica was coming and braked early to leave room, and the large front wing ended up under the wrong the car. Still, Red Bull have pace, so it'll be interesting to see where they are next week.

Renault
Piquet spins. Nothing new. Alonso not actually a great race. Poor start, he got past a slow Glock only to be re-taken later. The Renault just wasn't there. He was just lucky today more than anything that the race had a low finishing number.

STR
Buemi, okay I admit it was an impressive debut. Similar to Bourdais' last year. But we'll see what happens over the rest of the year.

McLaren
Sad to see Hekki out so early, but thats racing. Lewis on the other hand, his drive spoke for itself. Perfect drive, and couldn't have done anymore and he ended up keeping it on the track unlike a certain amount of other drivers. Great drive from him

Toyota
They were a surprise today. They came from nowhere near the end. Just too bad that Truili lost the podium. I'd really just like to see what happened there. Seems like quite a silly mistake. Glock, why did he start behind Truili today? Strange, all the same great drive as well.

Force India
I'd like to say props to Sutil. He was involved in the first corner shunt and ended up in the pits. To make it back up and past Fisi is pretty impressive. Just too bad he didn't get some early points in.

The way I look at it is that Ferrari's poor result today is Ferrari's (team including drivers) own fault, but there is nothing fundamentally wrong that can't be fixed. The main question is whether diffusers and KERS is a temporary setback for the team, or whether it's going to take longer for the team to overcome those technical challenges.

I think we saw again today how the tail end of the cars is really light. Nakajima and Raikkonen's accidents were odd, so I wouldn't blame them too much. I also noticed that cars operating KERS are having some problems with their brakes; it seems to be causing the wheels to lock up and instability under braking. It's an interesting piece of technology, but it's going to take a while longer to perfect.

Well I've just woken up again. So i'm just going to make short notes to sum up the race:
Fantastic race. Luckily for the past two seasons we've had a fantastic opening race, hopefully we get another one in a weeks time.
First off well done to Brawn, an incredible story and the car is a serious championship contender. Barrichello was scrappy, but came good in the end. Button was excellent - silenced many of his critics today, hopefully he continues to do so.

Hamilton again has shown why he's one of the top drivers in the field. Yes he was gifted a higher finishing due to Kubica and Vettel's dance and the Ferrari misfortunes, but that's racing. He was there to pick up the pieces and really thrashed the car.

The Toyota's were also solid today, pity Trulli made a big mistake at the end, but they look to have a strong car.

Rosberg was excellent - Fisichella not so.

Alonso had his off at the start, but that Renault is slow. I think they are way behind. A terribly poor weekend, I'm not happy about that.

Clumsy by Kubica, but Vettel has shown again today that he is a rising force.

From one Seb to another, I think Buemi deserves some credit. A very solid debut!

Roll on Malaysia

I'd agree with that Chris. The kers running cars were really a mixed bag. THe system obviously has its advantages, but they really don't seem to outweigh the positives. However alot could be due to the circuit layout, I think Kers will be beneficial more so in Malaysia.

I like the new tyre rules, it is interesting to have the two compounds so different!

I really like KERS. Given most of other parts of the regulations are still pretty constrained, it's one of very few things which hold up Formula One's claim to be the most technically advanced category in motorsport. I think what really needs to happen is for the car's minimum weight to be moved up to at least 655 kg next season, so as not to discriminate against taller and/or heavier drivers.

I should also have said I felt Hamilton came good today. I was expecting Kovalainen to do better, for he seemed to have found a much better car set-up with what I was a slightly challenging car on Friday and was generally faster throughout the weekend. Conversely, Hamilton seemed to be really struggling with the car and his driving was erratic. Perhaps that was partly because he was finding the limit of the car, too. Overall, though, the MP4-24 did has got a little better. Certainly before Jerez, the car was bordering on being declared unsafe, as the back end was so unstable a gust of wind could blow the car off the track, but that seems to have been tamed slightly; come race day Hamilton's car looked pretty balanced. Sadly, it's just not fast enough.

It was painful viewing from a McLaren perspective. Save whenever cars retire because of mechanical failures etc., I can't ever remember seeing so little of McLaren during a race - even in the mid-1990s. :crying:
