I don't think I can hold spiders like that...have held pythons, a baby crocodile, but a hairy little bug like that, don't think so.

I held a snake today too, but haven't uploaded the pictures. Love snakes - my first picture holding a royal python when I was about 6. :)

I honestly think that tarantulas are pretty much just like furry 8-legged hamsters! :)

I'm sorry I can't get past the shocking taste in table cloths. :hehe:

TABLECLOTHS!! YOUR NOTICING TABLECLOTHS!! With that creature in his hand. Oh my God! They're not like hamsters! But in a weird way they aren't as bad as those very fast black long leg fat bodied ones that get in the house. Tarantulas at least seem to be still most of the time. The worst one ever is that one someone poste of the toilet spider. Horrors!!!! I love animals but these sort I just am so scared of

I understand that completely, I think it's the jumpy movement more than the look of the spider itself that people are often scared of. Some Tarantulas do move like that, but not these ones. Even if I didn't like the look of a spider in the house though, I couldn't ever bring myself to kill one, I have to catch it and put it outside. :)

Ugh! no!

I must admit, I'd be on edge if I had that spider in my hand. Not as bad as a wasp though! :P

caught this little bugger in the house today. don't worry safely put back outside where it could get picked off by a racoon or a hawk.

I like those. I like the feel of them. I like playing with slow worms. Is that one poisonous ?
#357605
no it's a garter snake, not poisonous but from what I understand they can and will bite and may have a caustic bite but not poison. They're all over and I generally just get them outside when one manages to get inside the house and isn't killed by our cat.

they have an interesting defense mechanism... they roll up into a ball and pee a slimy secretion. my big galoot of a dog could care less but the little shih tzu finds it very interesting.
