From F1 Live:

Lewis 'wasn't disappointed' to learn Ron was going
Friday 17th April 2009

Rumours of growing tension between Lewis Hamilton and Ron Dennis have apparently been vindicated after the World Champion revealed he "wasn't disappointed" to learn that Dennis had stepped down as McLaren CEO.

On Thursday former team boss and McLaren CEO Dennis announced that he would no longer play any role in McLaren's F1 project amidst rumours that his relationship with the Hamilton family had broken down.

When asked in the wake of Friday Practice for the Chinese GP for his reaction to the news of Dennis' exit from F1 after forty years in the sport, Hamilton replied: "I wasn't disappointed. I was surprised, but I had not heard about it. I was just as surprised as the rest of my team," Hamilton said.

"Ron has been a huge force and support in my life, and he still plays a key role in my life. Whether or not he is in the team or not, I think you guys have been writing about it for years that as soon as he gets to a certain stage he will move aside. I guess, I don't know why, he decided to do it now."

Asked if he had spoken to Dennis, Hamilton replied flatly: "No."

But aside from his brief comments on his former boss, Hamilton is opting to keep his own council with regards to other issues plaguing the team. "That's nothing to do with me," he said when asked about Whitmarsh's comments that McLaren need to foster a new relationship with the FIA. "I'm here to race and I have to focus on doing my job. What the team decides is up to them. You should speak to them."

If it does turn out they really have fallen out, I bet it will be over the "trophy" issue and Lewis wanted to take more originals away from Ron.

If that is the case then he certainly won't be getting any more now! He can say goodbye to getting his F1 LM too... :hehe:

Lewis doesn't deserve that F1 LM at all at the moment he needs fulfil his contracted 5 years and get at least another 2 WDC before he deserves it.

And just focus on driving the balls of that McLaren and keeping his nose out of trouble. This will all be forgotten about in 18 months...

I bet he also asked Ron for Senna's all-conquering MP4/4 from 1988, Hamilton often talks about how this was his favourite F1 car back in the days.

Hamilton deserves f*** all squared. He gets very well paid. That should be his reward.

He needs someone like Martin Brundle to manage him away from his Father...

I can see Martin Brundle teaching him how to shut the f*ck up, do the right thing, get back to basics and throw the car around the track like he owns it...

That's the only way he's going to get out of this mess and start getting some respectability again.

At the moment I would agree but if he gave the team some proper dedication and some more titles over the next few years then my view point could change.

I also think he needs a new manager Anthony Hamilton has done a lot for his son over the years but now I feel he is doing more damage than good and that Lewis should get a person who can mange and mentor him from outside his family.

Why? He's only an employee. One who's held the team to ransom on several occasions at that. I think his pay cheque and few trophies he cajoled his way to are more than adequate. If you start giving one employee special status, you have to give everybody it. If Hamilton wants bonuses, he should have joined the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The last bit made me laugh hehe. I was thinking along the lines of if he did something special like winning titles while getting paid little compared to at the moment.
