RK takes the win (barely) from FA after Petrov crashes thereby causing a safety car that turns out advantageous for RK and FA. There will be rumors that Petrov was ordered to do so and he gets sacked in favor of KR for 2011. His cougar manager leaves in a huff, dons a Stalin uniform and joins MM's inner circle as top dom. :whip::twisted:

Well, none of the things you said make Monaco a "less boring race".

Um...Yes, yes they do. Watching F1 cars blast around the streets of Monaco, sometimes within inches of the barriers, is a total thrill. Watching F1 cars trundle round a car park in Singapore...Isn't. I can't remember the last time I thought a race at Monoaco was dull. The only time I thought a race at Singapore was mildly engaging was 2008, and we later found out...Well, you know the rest.

Car Park? Really? thats like calling Wall Street a car park. And why do they "blast" around Monaco but "trundle" around Singapore?

Because the Singapore lap is preposterously long, and so is the race. Also, whilst Singapore itself is lovely, the circuit at night is just another Tilke car park.

Still, can't decide whether "blasting" or "trundling" makes the race more or less boring...

High tide raises all ships, so a tight WDC battle makes every race a bit more special. Even Bahrain would be interesting to watch if it was at the end of the calendar and a handful of drivers were all within championship range.

Hmm yes, so i guess cars trundle around spa and almost every track on the Formula One calendar. And the Race is limited to 330km or 2 and a half hours so please, please, do your research before making a statement.

I do understand its not the most exciting track because there isnt much overtaking during the race but be able to support your answer with a REASONABLE arguement.

I prefer Monaco slightly; but it's only because of the glamour, the charm and the history of MonteCarlo :)

What the hell are you talking about? The lap is about 1 minute and 50 seconds long, lengthy for any F1 track (And about 30-40 seconds longer than a lap of Monaco) and the race last year took around 1 hour and 56 minutes because there's a whopping 61 of those almost two minute laps. Had there been a second Safety Car (Bearing in mind the one there was was out for only about 5 laps), the race would have been stopped owing to the 2 Hour Rule (It's 2 hours, not 2 and a half, so it is you who needs to do the research). The Monaco Grand Prix last year was some twenty-six minutes shorter.

The Singapore Grand Prix is slow, and because it is slow it is long and because it is long and slow, it is dull.

I have to go with Monaco, unreservedly.

Monaco has history, and as Jensonb stated, the cars get within inches of the barriers.

To look at it objectively, try and watch the upcoming Singapore GP as if it is daylight. It would be dead boring, another Valencia I tell you. Even at night it barely holds water. I've never had heavy eyelids during a Monaco GP, you NEVER know when the camera will shift to a newly broken car somewhere on the track!!

I prefer Monaco too, i've never said the opposite. In fact, I have been to a Monaco GP... a loooooooooooooooong time ago (like '91 or '92, didnt really sit in a grandstand, but watched from an apartment balcony).

BUT what I have been saying is that Singapore does not have it cut short into producing as decent a race as Monaco. Monaco is far more exciting for the drivers, its far nicer for the atmosphere.... but from pure racing action, without some interesting development, Monaco gives more or less the same expected type of race as Singapore. The lap being longer doesnt make it duller... and the scenery or glamour at Monaco doesnt make the race better....

My point with the length is that it feels interminable. If "nothing happening" takes longer, it's more boring. That's what I'm saying.

going on ferrari and redbulls form in monaco and hungary the smart bet would be for those teams to do well, but then again mclaren have a very good track record in singapore.

nice to heidfeld back, bad memory but was it at this race last year that his record breaking streak of race finishes came to a end when grosjean??? hit him ?

Yea last year, but it was Sutil I believe...Well bad luck for Nick but now he gets a seat.

But well I do not expect anything big to come out of it. Lets see how he does first and then we`ll get an idea.

There is no Piquet this year for Alonso, and I dotn think Massa will crash out on purpose :hehe:

If seriously, Alonso has done pretty well in Singapore and the same goes for Hamilton.
But McLaren weren`t really up there at Monaco or Hungary, so Singapore might not be their best place. We`ll see.

Its the first time for Schumi in night race. Hopefully he`s not scared of dark places :P

Well thats about it to say before the weekend really gets going...Oh wait, its not even this weekend...but should be an ok race at the worst

Well, Vettel diddn't retire in Monza, so I think we're due something from him.

Shall we take bets on what it might be? He's clobbered a Red Bull, he's clobbered a McLaren so my bet for this weekend would be he clobbers a ferrari. :hehe:
