If last year taught us anything its that you can't assume that all of the big teams are going to produce good cars, and we don't even know what the new teams have yet, maybe one of them will actually be quick, crazier things have happened. You guys are nailing their coffins shut before they have even come out of the womb.

Be realistic mate. Virgin are here testing and they have massive teething problems. You cannot realistically expect new teams to set up, build cars, send them out, recover the inevitable pace deficit and then overtake some of the established teams on pace whilst the established teams are also improving. Nothing is impossible, but that is a monumentally difficult challenge. It's going to be all the trickier without some pre-season testing (Here's looking at you Campos Meta 1).

Virgin got their car running before 15:00 but hit the worst of the rain and so did only about 7 laps. In the longest run they managed, they were about 5 seconds off the other cars running at the time but Massa was going very quickly in the Ferrari at the time and was lapping almost 10 seconds faster than the Virgin.

Ferrari are looking mighty, Alonso's 40 lap run yesterday was very impressive and Massa looked good in the wet today.

Ferrari are seriously pounding in laps. They've done more laps than anyone I'd assume. Every test it seems Ferrari have done the most or second most number of laps. No reliability problems either yet (very good considering the start of last year :rolleyes: ). Looking to be a good car. Consistent even if its not fast.

McLaren do some weird things during testing

i know its brilliant, they are just calabrating their CFD and wind tunnel. This is how they were able to catch up last year because they knew what parts would work and what wouldn't because they knew what the real world airflow was like on the car.

They are just thinking Long term i guess.

Well either that or thats a Missle or Oil Slick Launcher and they weren't kidding when they said they were being "aggressive" this year.

:yes::yes:

F1 is a hard thing to do from scratch. Its not like the "Garageists" (I can't speak French) of the 80's where a team could do it out of the backyard shed.

Virgin looking ok today, 36 or so laps with no technical problems reported. Roughly on the pace too, 2 tenths down on the Toro Rosso which is the next slowest.

Well they have 6 weeks to improve it, and with CFD they should be able to throw out parts faster than other teasm. It willl be intresting to see how the lotus will compare next week, especialy since they've had the least ammount of time to develop and build the car.

Still no news from USF1 or Campos..
