im just saying what it is. Lotus that will compete in 2010 is offically a national team. It has no realation to the older lotus, personally I think there needs to be some relation between the 2 for it to be called Lotus.
1. McLaren - Team Britain (2 British drivers and 1 British test driver)
2. Mercedes - Team Germany (2 German drivers and 1 German Test driver)
3. Ferrari - Team Italy (Ferrari = Italy, nothing more needs to be said even tho I will. 2 Full Time drivers who speak the language, 2 Test drivers who are Italian too)
4. Lotus - Team Maylasian (Maylasian owned and has support from the government, has a Maylasian Test driver)
5. USF1 - Team USA (American owned and run. Could have a US driver too)
6. Force India - Team India (The name says it all, they had an Indian test driver a few years ago too)
7. Renault - Team France (During there time in the 70's/8-'s they had heaps of wins and podiums from French drivers. Infact for most of those years all their drivers were French and Reanult basically means France)
8. Red Bull - Team Australia/Australasia (Webber is an Aussie, and now they have a Aussie test a driver and a New Zealand test driver)
Other teams you could include
9. Campos - Team Spain (The only team run out of spain. Looked like having an all Spainish line-up at one stage too).
I dont care who owns Lotus, Lotus is British. Always has been and always will be. So according to your logic Lamborghini would be German then? I think not. Lotus is owned by Proton however is Lotus registered as a British company or Malaysian? If it is registered as British then it is British. I will use the Lamborghini example. This is the offical name of Lamborghini. Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. Note S.p.A. This indicates an Italian company thus no matter if Volkswagen owns it, it is Italian. If Lamborghini were to become German after it became part of Volkswagen then it should of been called Automobil Lamborghini GmbH, SE or AG instead. But it isnt. So it cannot be German.
Well i got some news for ya bud, it is offically a national team of Malyasia. Dont shoot the messager. I'm not saying it effectivaly is i'm saying IT IS. And going by your theory, Britians fav team is McLaren but going by your crazy theory McLaren is New Zealand. So stop trying to rob Maylasian Lotus. Because a few months ago all you Brits were calling it Fake Lotus (which it kinda is). So suck it up and exept the plucky Brits dont have Lotus or every team in the sport.
AND the new Lotus IS NOT related to the old one. So stop sooking.
I am not sooking. I am not even British?I am an Italian national of mostly Slovenian heritiage. And hertiage is extremly important and Lotus is of British heritiage. If the Malaysians want their own full team why buy Lotus and keep calling it Lotus? Why not rename it to something else. When I see and hear Lotus I think of Colin Chapman, the Englishman who created it. Just like when I hear Ferrari, I thimk of Enzo Ferrari. Anyway if Lotus have a Malaysian super licence then I guess it will be classified as a Malaysian team. No offence to any Malaysians but I think it is a joke and wrong, In terms of F1, Lotus is one of the greats of F1. They were Ferrari's main rival in the 70s just like McLaren is now. Lotus is part of the British success in F1 just like Ferrari is for Italy. If Ferrari all of a sudden became Chinese I would be offended. I am sure many Lotus hard core fans from Britain do not aporeciate it no longer being British. Anyway this is just my opinion.
