I'd like to see either Nico or Sebastian go to McLaren, there's more mileage in them that Kimi. As for the 'Sir Anthony' demands, absolute rubbish. Lewis is in one of the top 3 teams in F1, he isn't going to ruin that by by silly demands, Martin will just tell him to FRO and ban him from their garage in the future.

Toyota have said they cannot afford Kimi so I'm pretty sure he will go to McLaren now.

Apparently Heidfeld is in the frame for McLaren now. Can't find the source of this one but it was quoted on a Williams forum.

Heidfeld linked with McLaren and Renault
Nick Heidfeld was the forgotten man of the 2010 silly-season, but he could be in the running for a coveted seat at McLaren or Renault.

The Abendzeitung newspaper reports that, with Lewis Hamilton pushing hard against the prospect of sharing a team with Nico Rosberg or Kimi Raikkonen next year, Heidfeld has emerged as a candidate.

"He is the most under rated driver in Formula One," McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh is quoted as saying. Mercedes' Norbert Haug adds: "He brings over ten years of consistently strong performances."

Bild newspaper said Heidfeld, who debuted for Prost in 2000 and also raced with Sauber, Jordan, Williams and BMW although never winning a race, is also in the running for the Renault seat currently occupied by Romain Grosjean.

I'd be VERY happy with Heidfeld, I agree with Whitmarsh - he is one of the most underrated drivers in the league, and also one of the most consistent ones. I think he's an upgrade over Kovalainen in almost every aspect except qualifying maybe. With him we'd still have a NICE shot on WCC. Thoughts?

I would love to see the battle of britain at Mclaren, temp Jenson away from Brawn to partner Lewis, would be very interesting

:rofl: I dont think Button would show well against Lewis at all, Specially if the car was recalcitrant! Heidfed...interesting thought. My preference is still Senna inj the second Mclaren. What about Glock if Kimi plumps for Toyota and they take Koshyboshy along side him??

Why would you pick Glock over Heidfeld?

Because he was the "key" in Hamilton picking up the title at the last corner. :P

Younger, more potential, an outright faster driver, etc etc etc...

Heidfeld would be a good choice he is experienced, used to be on the junior program then went on to be test driver for the team and is still quick!

If McLaren are looking for a safe pair of hands alongside Lewis to help them in the constructors title then they should look to Rubens. He will be far cheaper, more motivated, just as quick, an ace at helping with car setup / development and just as quick.

nah - too much experience.. sir anthony dont want that.

yeah he would.

I hope that is not true, but somehow that is still the way I see older Hamilton, at least.

Wow a newspaper reports it so it must be true.... Even if Lewis is against having a fast team mate and wants the team focus on him is that any different to past greats such as Schumi Prost Mansell etc? But because it's Lewis you get the hate club jump all over him like anything else he does.... Pathetic

Mansell never cared about who his team mate was, although he asked to be the definite number one driver in his last two seasons after he got screwed so badly by Ferrari. Understandable! The other two though... yeah. :hehe:
